Built in Samvat 1921 during the reign of Maharaja Ram Singh II (Notably the only Jaipur ruler who followed Shaivism as compared to his ancestors who were all Vaishnavs), Raj Rajeshwar Temple is located in the premises of the City Palace in Jaipur. Dedicated to Lord Shiva as a Shivling, accompanied with his family, Parvati sits behind him in a very elaborately embellished niche in gold and gemstones, the architecture of this temple resembles a Haveli, with an open courtyard surrounded by arches. It is opened for the public only on Mahashivratri. #Heritage #Historic #Gods #GodsOfIndia #IndianAesthetic #Temple #Hindu #Hinduism #Religion #Faith #Shiv #ShivSect #Shaivism #RajrajeshwarTemple #CityPalace #Jaipur #JaipurDiaries #JaipurJournal #Rajasthan #India #IncredibleIndia #Wanderer #Wanderlust #Travel #Travelogue #TravelDiaries (at Rajrajeshwar Temple)
