I used to think my parents would be better off if they got divorced. They don’t necessarily work well together, and they haven’t for years. My mom has used me as a sounding board for her issues with my dad since I was about 13. But my sister said something the other day: Mom doesn’t know how good she has it because Dad loves her more than she realizes. He gets mad when she buys new clothes because he thinks she always looks good. He works hard at a job he has started to hate because he knows he needs to provide for them. He doesn’t always do what she asks because he’s busy doing the things she doesn’t realize need to be done. He loves her.

My grandma is awesome. We were talking about my Children's Lit class and right now we're looking at a book about gay penguins (And Tango makes Three). We got into the topic of gay people in general and she said sometimes she has a hard time understanding and all that because of her past and the attitudes around her growing up. Her final statement was "I try my best to accept people but you will never see me be ugly to anyone; if I have a problem its mine and not theirs."

Excitedly showed a friend I haven't seen in a while my new laptop. Her response: I can tell its new, there's no food bits in the keyboard yet. Is that the international symbol of a new laptop?

I am trying to get my dad to print a form from the internet. I am now listening to him mutter and coach himself through the situation while I sit idle as his printer is not working...
