saying harry likes sony's closet because it keeps him and louis's life private is such a fucking joke. you can't call him ambitious and desperate to make it big in the industry while saying he suddenly sees it as a way to keep his private life safe. in what fucking planet is it about protection? we all know it was designed to make money not protect harry's life and certainly not louis's. especially not louis's. harry was a victim of being separated from his one true love until he profited?
Anonymous: So now we’re saying Harry sees the sitcom as a way to protect his private life with Louis. Harry being an active participant in his closet is certianly not a new perspective :) Lol we’ve been saying it for years that he’s in control. Same stunts, same stories, same erasing of Louis. But he’s no longer a victim solely because he benefits from it financially now. Ironically, Louis benefits less. Doesn’t matter tho Harry’s ambitious and wants to be famous you can’t blame him!!Anonymous: Thank god Harry has Ben, James, Kendall, and Camille to protect him. Damn you know what thank God Sony’s been protecting him and Louis’s private life God they’re just so good to Harry right lmfao. Keeping his life with Louis “safe” while making him money, that’s the new way to excuse his active participation in what Sony’s doing. New fandom agenda: saying his closet is harmless, that it’s about safety, that erasing Louis from his life and having Eleanor a part of it makes him feel safe… Lol._______________
I grouped all these asks together because you ask a similar question.
I think that some in the fandom may feel that this is a way for Harry to keep the closet doors closed and to protect his private life— because fandom believes he isn’t straight, and because fandom knows of Larry’s extensive history.
To the public, this is a train wreck of a show that, even before it airs, has forced the showrunner to change his story about 57 times— showing the unraveling narrative at the seams. If the show is as good as the introduction, it should implode after three episodes.
What’s extremely interesting to me is Harry’s silence right now. As Exec Producer, he is expected to know the plot line and trajectory of the show. An EP by definition knows the key players in the show: the lead actors, the writers, the plot points. The actors have tweeted about him, so they know him and know the show is based on him. The actor pretending to be Harry (Felix Mallard) mimics him to the last curl on his head, clearly modeled on 2013 Harry.
So how does Harry feel about the show? His silence as Ben flounders and flails is so amusing to watch— it’s like someone backing away from a leaky boat as the hapless captain bails away with a holey pail (Dunkirk! hahaha).
Anyway, I don’t know the answer. It’s just a hopelessly shitty dog and pony show that’s amusing and loathsome all at once. At the end of the day:
