so I caught him as he was leaving and almost everybody was gone already, so like clearly I was waiting for him. anyway. we talked and he kinda shied away from saying there was flirting at first? like he was like “okay yeah there may have been a little flirting” until I was like “no that’s not a problem” and then I explained gender things and that went really! well!

like he just kinda took it in for a second and then was like “okay I can do that” and :) like it was just a really good coming out experience! he let me get all my words out even when I stumbled over them and paused to think and I’m thinking he’s at least heard of gender identity and nonbinary genders. he confirmed that he identifies as male and uses he pronouns.

and then we went back to the flirting bit and he said he’s not in a good mental place for a relationship and that he probably shouldn’t flirt in that case and that he is attracted to me and maybe when he’s in a better place we could go on a few dates? and I made it known that I’m down for casual stuff too. and the conversation was wrapping up and he was like “well in that case I was gonna get dinner?” but I’m doing gra dinner and anyway I don’t think it’d be a great idea to do anything /right/ after that talk so I was like sorry my friends are picking me up for dinner and
