They both wake up pretty early but who wakes up first usually varies day to day. Sometimes it’s Shintaro and sometimes it’s Akira

Akira still teases Shintaro over being a stick-in-the-mud killjoy at times. Shintaro swears up and down that he tries not to be one... but they keyword there is that he tries.

Shintaro on the other hand rarely teases Akira over anything because he can’t bring himself to do it even though he has so much blackmail on him...

what they do when the other’s having a bad day

Akira would come to Shintaro demanding affection and no matter how busy he is Shintaro would indulge him. Cuddles, hugs, kisses... maybe a bit more... He also likes getting back rubs, especially if it’s a really strong one.

A nice, long bath usually does the trick for Shintaro, but Akira kinda just kicks it up a notch. He buys some fancy Lush bath products (making himself look stupid to the amused store clerks) and lights candles so Shintaro can relax more

They bribe Satonaka with fashion accessories and spicy food to help them. Shintaro additionally asks advice from Chiyoko, Hina and Shingo (who is only one in the police who knows he’s a Rider).

Also Takeru, because Akari stays up doing science-y stuff. Sometimes she would correspond with Philip and Sento over videochat and Takeru, Shoutaro and Ryuuga will go “oh god, there’s three of them!” before dragging them to bed

Takeru teases Akari over her disbelief of the supernatural, in spite of the fact that she now does (thanks to all the weird shit she’s seen, least of all Takeru becoming a ghost and a Rider). Akari, in return, teases him over his struggle with his studies except history

When Takeru has a bad day, Akari cheers him up by talking to him about other things over tea- her experiments, their other friends, etc. It distracts him enough from his problems until he’s ready to talk about it.

When Akari is the one having bad days, Takeru cheers her up by being a cuddlebug and volunteering to be her guinea pig for some... questionable experiments

They’ve known each other for so long at this point that they don’t really argue about anything. They know where they can compromise on and where they can’t (in which case they try not to let it bother them so much).

Ryusei sometimes teases her on her being a famous writer. She’s sometimes uncomfortable with the attention it brought her. And he also teases her when she writes romantic scenes asking if those are the things she wants them to do

When Tomoko is having a bad day it might be better to leave her to her own devices, since that’s when her witchiness is at its height. And no one wants to mess with a very witchy Tomoko for fear of being hexed

Ryusei’s bad days typically have to do with assignments going sideways so usually it’s him calling up Tomoko for advice. Despite it being against protocol, Inga (his partner) looks the other way because she knows she can trust Tomoko and the rest of the KRC.

Tomoko does it in a unique way: she would make a herbal tea meant to ward off bad feelings and give it to Ryusei, who knows immediately what it means. Even though he doesn’t like how it tastes (it’s pretty nasty) he’ll drink every single drop she serves because of her sentiment

Ryusei on the other hand will grovel when he needs to apologize to Tomoko. He doesn’t want her to hate him the way she did when he was revealed as Meteor after he killed Gentaro.

For Ryusei, it’s coming home without telling her. He’d just show up to wherever she is just like he did in Movie War Ultimatum and just nonchalantly stand there until she notices.

Speaking of Ultimatum, that incident when Ryusei showed up at Tomoko’s book signing and she stood up to glomp him why didn’t she kiss the heck out of him ended up all over the Net. ‘Bestselling author spotted with mysterious beau at book signing!’

Gives nose/forehead kisses: Hiromu gives the forehead kisses, Youko the nose ones (solely because she is too short to reach Hiromu’s forehead)

Gets jealous the most: I feel like Youko will, because canonically Hiromu has another girl interested in him (Pink Buster lady), while most of the men in Youko’s life are father- and brother-figures. Also Youko struck me as that possessive type.

Takes care of on sick days: They take care of each other when the other’s sick, with help from the Buddyroids.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: Youko. Hiromu is Hiromu, after all.

Brings the other lunch at work: Hiromu, who canonically can cook and is the more responsible of the two. He’d constantly bug Youko about her calorie intake until he just started bringing her food throughout the day instead of just reminding her.

Tries to start role-playing in bed: Ryuuji would kill both of them when he finds out. Plus they’re with their Buddyroids nearly 24/7. So... I dunno??

Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Probably Hiromu. Which is why he tries avoiding alcohol as much as possible.

Firmly believes in couples costumes: Hiromu. This is the dork that dressed up as Sherlock Holmes when they went undercover in that escape room/puzzle solving event. You can bet he tried to get Youko dress up as either Watson or Irene Adler.

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Both of them, at some point. Especially pre-kids.

Makes the other eat breakfast: Again, as the one who is demonstrated to know how to cook and has to remind the other of tracking their calories, Hiromu.

Remembers anniversaries: Both. Neither forget the important things.

Brings up having kids first: Hiromu, probably because of his sister bugging him to give her a nibling.

Kills the bugs: Neither, as J would murder them if they do.

First to define them as a couple: Probably Hiromu, in the bluntest way possible.

Who hides their guilty pleasures longer: Hiromu. Because he needs to keep the facade of being a super composed professional when really, he’s the dork who cosplays as Sherlock Holmes and joined a street performing club in school.
