#shifting hacks

- Clothing

What I script: "I have all my clothes in a trunk at the end of the bed. Only I can open this trunk. The clothes in this trunk always fit me and I always look good in them. The clothing are [insert dr style]."

In the first part I mentioned the closet I usually script but since we're at Hogwarts, they have trunks and wardrobes for their clothing, not closets.

Once again, if you're changing the dorms of your dr to have a closet, then you can disregard this section. <3

- Dorms

What I script: "Dorm rooms are bigger on the inside and function by stepping into one, small, communal lounging space connected to 5 medium-sized bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has a closet; a bookshelf; a desk and a double bed with two bedside tables. There’s a wardrobe with 7 [house] uniforms in it. When you place clothes in this wardrobe and shut the door, they will be clean and wrinkle-free when you open the door again."

This is one of my essentials because I don't want to have to share a room with four other people.

- The Suitcase

Now, what is the suitcase exactly... if you've ever watched Fantastic Beasts then you will know about Newt Scamander's infamous suitcase of animals. Well, this is a twist on that, only instead of stepping into a zoo you step into an apartment styled to your liking!

What I script: "I have a suitcase that I have put under my bed that looks like a normal suitcase on the outside but is much larger on the inside. Inside is a studio apartment furnished to my liking. This apartment never runs out of water or electricity. It’s stocked with my favorite foods and drinks and is always the perfect temperature. I am the only one who can open this suitcase. I can always change this apartment just by saying simple commands out loud like “change to modern decor” or “add 2 more bedrooms” or “add another chair to the dining table”."

- Your Magic Ability

What I script: "I am a fast learner and extremely talented wizard. I excel at school and school and homework is easy to me. Enchantment of objects and things is my speciality. I am also very skilled in wandless magic and rarely actually need my wand or to say words to perform magic. I am particularly skilled in wandless telekinesis."

Now this is obviously very altered to fit my preferences the kind of magic I am interested in in my DR, so you can change this and switch out the specialities to better fit you and your DR. Also, this is where I would add in that I'm an animagus or a werewolf/veela/etc, if that's something you want in your DR.

- Plot Points

Here are some details I've added to my DR, to fit my own preferences, that you might want to pick and choose from!

Remus stays the DADA teacher even after the events of Prisoner of Azkaban and Dumbledore works to make sure he keeps the position.

Dolores comes to 'watch over' Hogwarts after the ministry finds out about Remus's lycanthropy, and she is appointed the position of Vice Headmaster.

There is a Triwizard Tournament every three years, but no one ever dies from it and they're actually quite fun.

Yule Balls are annual and take place the week before we leave for December Vacation.

On Halloween there is a competition to see who can come up with the coolest, most creative, or most elaborate Halloween costumes. There are prizes, a dance, and the house elves always put your favorite candy/treat on your bedside table the morning of so you can start your day outright.

There are many extracurriculars, including magical and non-magical extracurriculars. [This is where you list off any sports, clubs, or otherwise you would want the school to have.]

- 'Cheats'

I cannot die and I have a high pain tolerance.

If someone forces me to tell them the truth, in any manner, nothing about my Original Reality or shifting comes out of my mouth.

There is no Voldemort.

I am immune to diseases, infections, and poison.

I cannot break any bones.

There is no homophobia, racism, or transphobia and people aren’t against polyamorous relationships.

Bugs avoid me. (Acromantulas...)

I cannot get arrested.

I never slip, fall or trip while running.

- Friend Box

What I script: "There's a box under my bed full of notebooks. Each notebook has the name of one of my friends/family on it. In the corresponding notebook is all for their: Likes and dislikes (As well as their favorites), hobbies, allergies, other important information and memories (such as phone numbers, addresses, and birthdays), a picture of them attached to the back cover by a paper clip.

This is great for if you are shifting to a DR with prior relationships. Say you're shifting to a dr where you're already friends/in a relationship with your comfort character(s), then this will be great so you can read up on what you've missed and you know all of the information you would have known if you had been in that dr your whole life. This way you don't forget/miss out on important birthdays, inside jokes, core memories, and other things built through relationships.

- My Closet

What I script: "In my closet I have as many clothes as I can fit. The style of my clothing is [insert DR style]."

This is so I don't have to manually download pictures of the style i'm thinking of off of Pinterest, then insert into my script, then fix the sizing, yadayadayada. This is just way easier, especially if you're writing your script on paper, not typing it up. I do suggest keeping a Pinterest board of the clothing styles, though, for better visualization.

- Tattoos

I always script I have these three tattoos:

A ring on my left thumb that turns red when the person I’m talking to is thinking about having sex with me, orange when I'm talking to someone who loves me romantically, yellow when they like me romantically, green when they have a neutral opinion of me, blue when they dislike me, and purple when they hate me. Only I can see this tattoo.

A simple watch tattoo on my wrist that only I can see that changes with the time of my Original Reality.

A dragon that’s tail begins at my sternum and then curls up on top of my collarbone and then the dragon wraps around my throat and up the right side of my neck, it’s face just below my left ear like it’s whispering to me. This tattoo translates any language I’m listening to into english and translates my words into any language, accent or impression I want to speak.

The first one is because I'm nosy, the second so I can watch the time in my Original Reality and feel more connected too it, and the third so I can speak any language that my comfort characters can speak (and also so I can do funny impressions).

- 'Cheats'

Now I like to call these cheats because I'm a videogame nerd and they remind me of like adding cheats to your game but here are some of my cheats that go in almost all of my DRs.

I have perfect aim and can identify and use any weapon put in front of me.

I cannot die and I have a high pain tolerance.

If someone forces me to tell them the truth, in any manner, nothing about my Original Reality or shifting comes out of my mouth.

I am immune to diseases, infections, and poison.

I cannot break any bones.

I will not develop attachment issues to my DR.

Any events that take place in my DR will have no lasting emotional effects on me.

I cannot get arrested.

I never slip, fall or trip while running.

I will remember everything and everyone when I shift back to my Original Reality.

I don’t sunburn or tan.

Snot never comes out of my nose when I am sneezing/crying.

My breath is always minty fresh.

My skin is always clean and clear of acne or blemishes.

I have no gag reflex

My feet don't stink, ever.

I never get earwax

I look good in all haircuts and hair colors.

I look good in all clothes and shoes, and they are always comfortable and fit me well. They do not rip, stain or burn.

Blood/death/stitches/burns/injuries do not gross me out and I handle seeing them very well.
