In anticipation of the upcoming Children’s Week, The Shielded Mind Medical Clinic cordially invites you to its SECOND official toy drive!  Food and beverages will be provided at the cost of one donation per person:  Toys, necessities and monetary contributions are all welcomed, everything collected will be given to the orphanage.   This is a child friendly event!

Andjela of the Succulent Tart will be doing tarot readings for donations!   The Succulent Tart will also be providing some background entertainment as guests mix and mingle!

Andi has been a pediatrician with the Shielded Mind clinic for multiple years now, if your character has kids, she may have treated them.

Volunteer Work:

Volunteers her time and services at many orphanages, shelters, and charities all around Azeroth. There’s a chance you may have seen her at a fundraiser or a gala, promoting the various charities and shelters she sponsors.

Confessor and Therapist:

She is a licensed confessor and therapist, and had her own private practice for years before joining the Shielded Mind.

Nobility:

Andivia is actually “Lady Hopebringer,” although she uses her (well earned) title of doctor more often than not. Her family is upper nobility, and her father was a very prominent healer for Silvermoon City for decades. They used to host multiple galas, balls and masquerades at their estate in Eversong Woods.

Crafty Corner:

Andi is very active in crafting; she spins her own wool, dyes said wool and fabrics, knits, crochets, sews, embroiders, quilts and just about anything else you can think of when it comes to sewing. Can often be found in craft stores.

Baker:

One of her favorite hobbies outside of crafting is baking and cooking, and she is really good at it. She used to pass out muffins in the city during her afternoon walks. Is known to frequent farmers’ markets.

Between Meryn’s hip surgery, Lynesse’s near death experience and Pollux’s impromptu, drug-induced sea excursion, Xanelen was exhausted both mentally and physically.  It was a strain to see these people he knew and cared for to be in pain and continue to constantly put themselves in harm’s way.  At least with Meryn this was to fix an old wound, but soon enough the man would be back at his job and finding himself in all sorts of trouble then proceeding to tell the Doctor that it’s ‘not that bad’ every single time he returned home bleeding.

It was one thing to heal soldiers wounded in the line of duty, it was another to heal friends and loved ones that continued to put themselves in danger when it didn’t always seem necessary.  It was his job and he enjoyed helping others, but it took a toll on him when he would see the same faces time and time again.

He did his rounds in the early morning while everyone was still sleeping and seemed comfortable, thankfully there were no new developments.  All his appointments were finished before noon and the paperwork went surprisingly quick.  Another round of checking on his patients to ensure they were well before he decided he was way overdue for a visit to the library.  

He tacked a note onto his door that instructed the other doctors to contact him over the comm if there was an emergency, otherwise he was to be left alone.  He also relayed a quick message to Meryn that he would be using his Winter’s Veil present for the majority of the day (and quite possibly the night with how his time got away from him while there), but that his sister would be well taken care of by the other Doctors present.

Quietly and quickly he slipped off to the library, he was definitely ready for some ‘me time’.

So I know I mentioned a blood drive, but that can come later.   Since Children’s Week is coming up, I thought about having the clinic do a toy drive to collect toys (and necessities) for the orphanage kiddies. Probably during the last week of April ~ thoughts?

Orphanage/Clinic folks let me know what days of the week work the best for you!  I think in the past we’ve had things on Wednesdays, so maybe April 27th?

Looking for ideas for another Shielded Mind clinic event possibly mid-May.  What would you guys think of a blood drive?  I’m open to other ideas/suggestions as well!
