I just think the Shield story is so much more interesting Because Dean Ambrose is effectively dead. Seth and Roman’s shared dead-ex-wife; the only witness to the time that they were a team, and then he goes and chooses to leave the story, leaves them to the endless cycle of betrayal they’ve trapped themselves in, where they have a shared past and a shared bond but they Can’t talk about it bc not only do they have to acknowledge their own flaws and wrongdoings, but they would also have to talk about Him and they can’t talk about him not just bc they’re not allowed to but bc then they’d be acknowledging the huge Ambrose-shaped hole that’s sitting between them and how that’s still impacting them both. But then also he’s not even actually dead, he’s just somewhere else, he’s a different person now and he can’t acknowledge them either and he put himself in a different story with different people but he’s still trapped in the same cycle with them over and over betraying the people he trusts bc it’s all he knows how to do
