8 August 2018.  Low Tide, Folkestone Harbour, Kent.  (16 x 12 ins).  Sold.  I love painting boats half in shadow and half in sun.  You also get beautiful shadows which help.  

25 August 2017.  High Tide, Sunny Sands, Folkestone. The first time I’ve painted a beach scene like this.  I painted it from the balcony of a building looking down on the beach.  At low tide, there’s a huge expanse of sandy beach here, but at low tide it disappears totally.   

20 July 2017.  Afternoon Light, Folkestone Harbour.  I could hardly resist the reflections of these two fishing boats in the wet mud.  So I set up underneath the harbour wall and painted them head on.  I was lucky with the tide, because there was plenty of time before it finally came in.  Where I was standing would normally have been under ten feet of water at high tide.
