Snoopy is underweight and not bearing weight on his right hind leg. Snoopy has a pending medical check to have xrays evaluated by a veterinarian. He will be needing rescue assistance due to his medical condition.
Patient wary limited exam:
ATTITUDE: wary, leash muzzle applied, tolerated systems evalauted below
EYES: clear, clean, normal
CARD: no murmur or arrythmia auscultated
RESP: bilaterally clear
M/S: front right- stiff, but weight bearing okay. rear right: NWB, dangling at fracture point and swollen at fracture point, BCS 3/9-
very under condition
RADS:
rear right- complete fracture of tibia and fibula with fragment of tibia suspected. Lateral view only, patient became difficult when
attempted to get other views.
Summary:
Patient is underconditioned, rear right leg needs orthopedic work or amputation, and front right leg likely needs rest and will return
to normal. Patient placed in emergency rescue.
-carprofen 100 mg tab- 1 tab SID
-gabapentin 600 mg tablet - 1/2 tablet BID
