Oh my gosh! I can't believe that I've missed Genereux's creation day!! My darling girl is just over a year old now! Oh how I love her! Here's a portrait of her for all of you, I made this sometime last year when I was taking notes for one of my classes!
Along with having eyes and spots that are lighter than Temeraire's, she is also missing the whiskers on the front left side of her nose. It is her very first battle scar, which she received while fighting Praecursoris. Yeah, she might have bit off a little more than she could chew with him, but Laurence was in danger! And fortunately Temeraire was there to leap in to her place after the shock and pain from her whiskers being ripped off dropped Genereux out of the air ^^

The colors are a bit dull this time, Temeraire is in from with his back to us.

If, upon finding a perfectly shaped tree trunk, Temeraire doesn't tease Genereux by making fun of her interests, would he really be a brother?

So this all started last August when I was relistening to HMD (yet again) and when Temeraire hatches it says how he seemed big for a freshly hatched creature. So my mind went to Volly being the smallest baby boy and then I jumped back to Temeraire being much smaller when he hatched and that I thought "what if the season why Temeraire is small when he hatches is because he has a twin in the egg with him. (Shell twins!) And they both love Laurence and now he has two dragons"
I can get behind almost anything that makes it so Laurence has even more proof that he is indeed lovable so now Laurence has two dragon children <3 Because Laurence is a bit of a completionism, I feel he'd name the twin after a ship too. So here is Genereux!! She loves her brother and her captain very very much.
So yeah, I've had this is my drafts for weeks, but I'm finally sharing my girl, she is precious and I love her with my whole heart and soul.
She loves poetry and art and history and theater, and sometimes gets frustrated when she has to listen again and again to Laurence reading from the Principia to Temeraire over and over and over. Which is perhaps unfair because she insists on Laurence reading things that she likes just as much.

A very large, and very angry Genereux 😤

When Temeraire's frill grows in Genereux's doesn't. Temeraire now sleeps less but Genereux sleeps more. While Temeraire only eats every few days the animal consumption at Loch Laggan because Genereux has become ravenous. Five months after Temeraire grows his delicate ruff and eligent whiskers Genereux finally starts growing hers. Erstwhile Genereux might have been saddened that her brother grew fancy head gear and she did not, where it not for the fact that her intense boost of appetite has caused her to significantly out weigh him.
Which is to say, it takes Genereux several months to finish growing after Temeraire, her appetite spikes, her wakefulness drops and she quickly surpasses Temeraire's size, and doesn't stop growing for another five months. She needs an entire new harness fitted at the end of it.
When you gotta wait an hour and a half to hear the next act of Hamlet because your brother insists on listening to Laurence read from the Principia first
@heartspark as soon as I saw your little collab with Mahari I knew I HAD to participate after finals! So here it is! My dragon is Genereux (an OC for Temeraire by Naomi Novik) she's a Chinese Celestial.
I actually don't know how large Mahari is but at least to me she's never had Large Dragon Vibes (tm) so I first tried to shrink Genereux down to her size. But I wan't having a good time with the posing and after doodling Genereux closer to her true size I figured that I could make that idea work out.
And I put them into a desert because I'm pretty sure that's where Mahari lives and I think Genereux would enjoy the hot sun and warming sand of a desert if she didn't have to race through it ^^
