So about a week ago I decided I'd come to Morocco to visit friends. I booked the flight, gave them details so they could pick me up, and that was that. Now I'm no amateur at airports, I've been flying since before I could walk, I should know better, but when I got there I was given an entry form. Not all counties have them but you basically fill out passport details, why you're there and where your staying. This is fine if you have accommodation booked, but I'd forgotten to ask my friends their address. So I land yesterday morning and I'm desperately trying to get onto the dodgy airport wifi to contact them but it's not working. I have no choice but to try to go through immigration. I give the guy my passport and the form and he give it back and points at the blank section. I tell him I'm staying with friends. "Call them" he says. "I can't. "Use the wifi" "it's not working" he just sits there waiting, i'm looking at my phone hoping this wifi will magically kick in when he sighs, hands me a pen and says "write down hotel Washington, Casablanca""what?" My ears are blocked from the flight and I had no idea what he said. He looks at me like I'm the dumbest person on earth and repeats it. I fill it out and hand it back. He waves me through. I googled it, it's a far nicer place than I've been staying in. Thanks random immigration dude 👍
