Maid of Space?
How’d this get buried under all the session asks? Oh well let’s get it done, a quick check at the masterlist shows we hven’t done this one yet.
Maid: One who maintains and later creates their aspect
Space: The aspect of physical existance, velocity, mass and everything physics. Often linked to creation as well due to the Genesis Frog breeding task all Space players are assigned.
Maid of Space: ‘One who maintains and later creates mass/velocity/physics’
The Maid Class is the suspected Active counterpart of the Passive Bard, although this has yet to be confirmed in any way, it is the theory we work with on this blog for now however. They are also the Class known to be INCREDIBLY reluctant to take up their roles and the tasks Skaia assigns them. This can be because of apathy (Aradia), dislike (Porrim) or sheer seeming impossibility (Jane) of the task. For one of the Space aspect in particular, the Maid will have some personal grievance against frog breeding. This is, for numerous obvious reasons to anyone who knows how Sburb works, really bad. You NEED that Genesis Frog and the Maid will be really really good at it (maitainer/creator after all) once they get their butt moving. But expect resistance. In fact you may need to stage a full on intervention to get them to do the thing. If you got a Knight in session this becomes alot easier as they can team up with your Tme player (Barring the combo that they are the Knight of Time) and badger the Maid into doing the thing.
One other thing to note about the Maid class is that (so far that we’ve seen in canon) all of them start off simultaneously screwed over but reliant on their aspect. This could mix nicely with the other canon fact theme that Space players tend to live pretty isolated from others. The Maid could be reliant on their isolation to keep them safe from dangers, but screwed over by that same fact due to harder to get supplies/poor internet connection/much less comforts and conviences than everyone else.
Power-wise we have no canon knowledge of what a Maid of Space could do despite having one since Porrim was a rather unmature and still reluctant Maid before she died. We can suspect, from Aradias ability to Timestop an unkillable Boss and Janes ability to bring anyone back to life once without fail, that they will have something pretty darn powerful up their sleeves after ascension related to their aspect. My suspicion? Pocket dimension creation at will. Enemy giving you problems? Flick of a wrist and its stuck in its own little area of space and without ALOT of power or some Void abilities, isn’t getting out anytime soon. A defensive combo, definately and one very well suited to creating and keeping the Frog safe.
