Dictionary defines it as the state or quality of being mature. I know. It is kind of epic, like what is it? What is maturity itself? How do you consider yourself mature? How do you know you are mature? Is it when you know a lot of things in life? Learned life’s lessons? Is it when you act like your age? When you put away childish things? Childish acts? Is it knowing and doing your responsibility? Is it sacrifice? What is it anyway?
Yesterday, I went out with my college friends. You know the friendship system in college right.. We’re not that close but since we belong to the same circle of friends, we talk. For others, it may not apply but I’m pretty sure you know what my point is. Mutual friend of another friend. Friends of friends which makes you their friend too. This is the college that am in and I suppose it’s the same in other universities out there. To get to the point, one guy (not totally a stranger, just a friend of a friend, not close) told me I look “innocent” (was the term he used) rather -- naive & childish, if you would analyze what he means. To be honest, I’m not sure how to take it but I guess he meant that as a compliment which unfortunately for me, didn’t seem like one. Okay sorry. It feels like I’m ranting e? Ha ha! Naah. After that encounter, I really thought about it and my introversion-ism (maybe on the other side, he really means I look like someone who doesn’t break the rules, the goody-goody two shoes, lol). How does he define maturity? How do you define it?
