It was a game they’d been playing since their fourth year at least. Fighting and flirting and fighting again. She didn’t want to like him, knew he was bad for her, what with his reputation and all. But Marlene also got to see parts of Sirius seldom other people got to see. Especially when he thought she wasn’t paying attention. So it came as a surprise to her when he leaned in and pressed careful lips to hers whilst she was patching him up in the infirmary. Hand still applying a bandage to his arm, she froze, brown eyes wide and blinking back at him for a moment before she felt her cheeks flush.

Fantastic. Now she was blushing in front of the boy she wanted to hit more days than not. And he’d probably go straight back and tell James after this and Marlene would become just another girl to cross off his list of classmates to snog. She hoped not though, Merlin, she hoped not.

Marlene cleared her throat, finished up the task at hand and set the bandaging aside. She was thankful for the curtain, it meant nobody else that might of been awake had paid witnessed. Teeth dragged on her lower lip and she found it in herself to make eye contact, “Ye best not be makin’ a habit o’that, contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants ta hop in yer bed.”
