      remi fisher was a meddlesome pain in the ass.

      it was the diagnosis that cal had made within the first hour of meeting her and one he would stick to as strongly as any of his other convictions. friend though she may be, she still served to throw a stick in his proverbial bike spokes, as it were. if it wasn’t for her taunting and teasing cal would have easily brushed off mila’s snapping text messages as he had done for the past however many years whenever she got in a mood, infrequent as it may have been. but the word that remi had thrown around stuck like flypaper and as much as cal was remiss to admit it, the spat seemed to confirm it more than deny it.

      which was why he left mila on read for a few days (though his read receipts were off). calvin lucas did not do girlfriends. it wasn’t his style.

      but he was a creature of habit. sunday nights were spent at either his or mila’s, and considering they hadn’t confirmed her coming to his with the silence between them, so naturally he’d go to hers. it was late enough where he imagined freya would be heading to bed, if not asleep already, and habit had him coming through the back door with treats in hand to keep bruce and wayne from going off too much (though he could hear them as soon as he approached the door). with keys stuffed into his pocket he shifted through the cavernous house, appearing in the doorway of mila’s bedroom with the dogs trailing behind him like a miniature parade.
