🖤📷 #ArtIsAWeapon #BlackHistoryMonth The @librarycongress has acquired the archive of photographer #ShawnWalker and an archival collection of #Harlem's #KamoingeWorkshop #photography collective. It's a major addition to the prints and photographs collection here at the national library. The Shawn Walker archive contains nearly 100,000 photographs, negatives and transparencies depicting life in Harlem — a pivotal crossroad of African diaspora culture — between 1963 and the present. The Kamoinge collection — generously donated by Walker — consists of nearly 2,500 items, including prints by Kamoinge members such as Barboza, Draper, Smith and others. See more at loc.gov/news. Let me just say one of two things. I fucking hated drawing David's hair. Its just so every where that you can't really tell which way he actually parts it! And the second thing is I regret coloring this.
