John doesn’t sing: at least, not in front of anyone else ( a category even Hellboy’s cats fall into, as he simply can’t abide their staring without the suspicion that they’re somehow judging him behind those enigmatic eyes ). Granted, he’s not necessarily singing aloud now. He is, instead, doing so almost unconsciously under his breath, at the volume of a murmur.

John’s not surprised when Lily heads in his direction ( they’ve grown rather comfortable around one another since they began working together, and he counts her as his friend ), though he’s hardly anticipating the sentiment she conveys. While he’s never actively attempted to conceal his birthday from anyone, he’s not the sort to announce its arrival, either. A grin plays subtly along his lips; it’s on the tip of his tongue to assure her that she doesn’t need to ‘ pay him back ’ for when they’d gone out for her birthday a few months prior, yet he supposes she knows that. Lily isn’t necessarily one to act based solely on societal obligation, John’s quite certain.

Kharon was currently just off the road, in his boat which was hovering upon near invisible waters. He was under the impression there was not a lot of traffic around here, so when he feels a strong soul coming his way it is a bit of a surprise. Blinking he slowly sips from his coffee mug and waits to see who they are.
