The RATTLE of china against silver met her ears, nearly downing the steady tap of her sister-in-laws footfalls against wooden floor. If the debauchery && DARKNESS that saturated every inch of this godforsaken place had not been so EXQUISITE, the succubus would have spat the poison-laced tea right in the woman’s BEAUTIFUL face. She knew their intentions were less than PURE upon their introduction, so eager were they to infiltrate the WEALTHY family she herself had crept into. Guinevere had allowed it, intrigued by the sickness that wept from their spirits. Perhaps they would provide her with adequate entertainment? Thus far she was less than amused. The tea was ghastly and the seclusion grated on her nerves.
She spent her days wandering the halls with the company of the other GHOULS that lurked within Allerdale Hall && wearing a MASK of naivety at each stolen glance and lingering touch between the siblings. It was clear her welcome was WORN, though the succubus knew that her presence had not been desired in the first place. Guinevere was beginning to wonder when Lucille would simply SNAP && take a knife to her heart. Hopefully soon, she was in DIRE need of excitement and could not WAIT to bear witness to her utter astonishment when she came to know the truth.
❛ It’s absolutely FRIGID this evening, why not join me? have a cup yourself? It would break my heart if my favorite SISTER caught her d e a t h in this weather. ❜

It wasn’t so much that Enola hated Lucille for what she had done. Death had granted the heiress a whole new understanding of her sister in law, and there was a certain level of complexity to Enola’s feelings on Lucille. On having been killed by Lucille. Not that it mattered; deciding how she felt about her death or her killer would not change what had happened. Still, she often found herself reflecting on the events leading up to her untimely demise. Her contemplation invariably drew her soul towards her sister in law. Sometimes this was of her own volition, and other times Enola would look up and find herself in another room than she had been in before. Today it was the latter, and she found herself in the kitchen with Lucille, watching the other woman go about her life.
The ghost considered just leaving, passing through the wall into the hallway and floating through the corridors, but instead she stayed where she was. “Do you ever think about how different your life would be if we’d stayed in Milan?” She suspected the thought had never crossed Lucille’s mind, but it didn’t matter. There were very few things that still mattered.

“I’m sorry, Lucille. It won’t happen again.”
