Zweieinhalb Jahre ist es her, als mit “Dream Darling” das zweite Album des Mancunian Quartetts The Slow Show erschien. Jetzt sind die Arbeiten am dritten beinahe abgeschlossen und mit “Sharp Scratch” beendet die Band die Funkstille. Ein Track, der die klassischen Einflüsse der Band aufzeigt: vier Minuten imposante Höhen und Tiefen, zerbrechlich, gleichwohl dramatisch und getragen von Rob Goodwins unheilvollem, wie tröstlichen Bariton.
“This song was written during a period of chronic pain and ill health.” erklärt Rob “Whilst not explicit, it deals with the precarious nature of our health and the associated anxiety, hope and despair.”
