They said one cup of coffee costs 1 million bolĂvares, not $ btw. It was most likely true during the time they were investigating for the article. The thing with Venezuelaâs economy is that the inflation rate grows around 3% everyday (last time i checked anyway), so itâs hard to reflect todayâs reality when it changes so much every week. To put that in context, the minimum wage in Venezuela is around 3$, imagine working the whole month to get paid 3$. What are you gonna buy with that, 3 cups of coffee and go to sleep?
