sharklilly replied to your post “I recall seeing your old OC, "the wizard lizard"? I absolutely adore...”
That was my oc I submitted. Her real name is Vanvot Estesi: https://www.instagram.com/p/BgYIZTunsdx/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1iotj0qul3mh4 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bgc_6aaDk_W/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=7zd422z60ml5
the mystery, solved. thanks shark!
I appreciate you. a lot.
thank you, i appreciate you a lot also <3
I have a comic idea that I'm really excited about sharing for this competition, but I'm having a lot of problems with time management. It's 17 pages long and it's requiring me to draw backgrounds that are detailed, which I dislike doing and ultimately half-ass. I'm only on page 4. I have a job that exhausts my desire to work on it. I have ideas for my own projects that interfere with its progress. I don't enjoy doing it, but I really want to share it and I REALLY want to win (for other reasons).
i dont know what the end date for the contest is (so just keep chuggin on it!), but i totally feel you on this. theres been a lot of projects ive done that i only half finished or barely started and then gave up on just because a lot of the times theres just no energy to get it done.
if you have big plans for a project but soon find its more than you can manage in what time you want to do it, theres nothing wrong with pulling back on the scale of the project. youll surprise yourself by what you can do when you knock your self expectations down a bit.
along time ago (like, YEARS) i started work on a comic project that i thought ‘hey im gonna work on this, make a 10 or 20 page comic and then see if i feel up to making more, maybe do like 2 or 3 self contained stories and just feel things out.’ i didnt have a plan or anything, just a handful of loosely connected ideas and a bit of free time. i just worked on it as it came to me, bit by bit and when i finally decided i was done with it, the story ended up being over 700 pages long. i mean, it took years to do, but i hope you see my point.
this kind of goes hand in hand with the previous ask - art should satisfy the artist, first and foremost. if you work hard on something for a thing, and youre proud of it, but you cant enter it or apply it for whatever reason, youve still made a great thing that youre proud of that you can put out into the world. and thats really fantastic, i think!
Jade went grimdark at a point, so why was her speech comprehensible? Why didn't she speak in a R'lyehian-esque language?
Jade didn’t go Grimdark, she went Grimbark which is a parody of Grimdark and not the same thing
