SharePoint: Bulk Check In
This is for SharePoint 2007 but fairly certain it applies to 2010 as well.
Instructions: Check in Subfolder & Documents in a Document Library
Recommendation: I recommend modifying your document library view to include the âChecked out toâ column so you can see the column in Site Content and Structure. It makes it easier to verify that all documents are checked out/in.
Click on Site Actions > Site Settings.Â
At Site Settings, under Site Administration, click on âContent and Structureâ.
At Site Content and Structure, look for the document library in the navigation tree and click on it. The right pane will now show the contents of the document library.
Select all the documents or subfolders you want to check in. If you want to check in everything, select the check all box (image below).Â
Click on Actions > Check In. If you donât see the option to check in, just select check out and follow the instructions from Step 4.Â
Once you click on Check In, a window, Check In â Webpage Dialog, will pop up. If you have any comments to make about the check in, type it. If you donât enter any comments, SharePoint will automatically add the comment âChecked in by âYour Nameâ using the Content and Structure Toolâ.Â
Verify all documents are checked in. Note: If your default view for the subfolder/document library includes the âChecked out toâ column, youâll be able to see it in Site Content and Structure.Â
