If Jenna Marbles can make the decision to step away from YouTube, possibly forever, on her own, why can’t Shane Dawson? Jenna was accused of blackface because she had a shitty 2011 fake tan (she always looked like that back then) and she apologized saying that while that wasn’t her intention, it still hurt people and she’s sorry; Shane did legit blackface and talked about it once years ago, but refuses to genuinely acknowledge the danger of his actions. I started watching both Shane and Jenna when I was 11 or 12 and their actions didn’t phase me at the time because I was just a dumb kid. The difference between the two of them is that Jenna has legitimately changed as a person/content creator, but Shane is still associating with some of YouTube’s worst people and trying to defend their actions, which makes it very apparent he still holds those beliefs as well. I’m not really gonna touch on the pedophillia stuff because that’s still new info to me (I had never seen most of the clips coming out now) but I will say I think it’s funny Shane and Greg/James (whatever the fuck his name is) don’t get along because they’re very similar. Anxiety and depression will NEVER excuse racist/pedophillic actions. With all the money Shane’s made over the last decade, he can obviously pay for therapy and not from that pathetic Katie girl.

the fact that someone would accuse, then have other people believe, that my favorite youtuber is a pedo makes me sick. he’s helped me and others through some deep shit, and we’ve helped him. i’ve been watching him since i was legit out the womb basically. i’ve supported him throughout the years and saw him change. yes, he made bad jokes. but they’re jokes. everyone has a different sense of humor. he has sense changed. he’s raised awareness. he’s talked about pedo’s in hollywood and other places. he’s done so much and been through so much. this man doesn’t deserve this. he didn’t do anything wrong. what he did SIX YEARS AGO was make a joke to shock and make people laugh using dark humor. he even said he was joking several times throughout the jokes. the fact someone would bring something up from the past, then compare his lovers to have children like features, wanting to stir up some “tea” and cause someone to go through so much pain is disgusting. he is NOT a pedo. he is someone who has made people laugh until they cried (including myself) and even saved other people from dark times. he has helped people in general, making their platform grow bigger. not for views, but just because he was so nice and wanted to help. who would do something like that to someone?! who would attempt to ruin someones life just for views?! i will stand by shane. i always will. my love for him hasn’t changed, but instead grew stronger.
