the way that people on the shameless subreddit talk about svetlana…..death penalty

the way that the shameless women view themselves is so interesting to me because that self-image alone drives so many of their actions and often leads them down destructive paths. when lip tells karen that she’s better than marrying jody she responds “i’m really not” or something along those lines. mandy tells the school counselor that her only options are getting pregnant or going to jail. fiona sabotages her relationship with mike because she doesn’t feel that she deserves a good job, relationship, etc. all three of them end up making terrible choices because of their hopelessness and lack of faith in themselves

the thing about svetlana is she isn’t even a difficult character to read or understand the majority of the fandom just doesn’t view her as a person
