AllMusic Staff Pick: Shellac The End of Radio

The death of Steve Albini on May 7, 2024, among many other things, put an end to his long-running band Shellac, and for those who weren't lucky enough to see them live, this album approximates the power and sense of adventure they summoned in front of an audience. Containing two sets recorded for BBC Radio, the eight songs cut in December 2004 find the trio stretching out and expanding on their musical ideas; the nine-minute version of "Billiard Player Song" is one of their finest moments.
