#FlashbackFriday: Happy “Flashback Friday” everyone! Hope you had a great week! Last Friday (9/18/2020), I drove to Chatham,NY to write an exhibition review about the pop-up exhibit, “Shakers: In Community”, for “The Eastwick Press”. This exhibit, which centers around the Shakers’ life and their community inclusion, had some cool artifacts on display; a mode-ometer (present-day metronome), an orthopedic shoe (present day platform shoe), wooden wheelchair, a large Shaker dresser, and other Shaker artifacts representing the simple, Shaker way of life! This pop-up exhibit is on view through October 4,2020 and is free to the public. The Shaker Museum/Mount Lebanon will begin building their new museum in Chatham in 2021 & will be complete in 2023. More Shaker exhibits will follow after this current exhibit and future presentations at 17 Main St. Chatham, NY. You can learn about “Shakers: In Community” & Shaker Museum/Mt. Lebanon in today’s edition of “The Eastwick Press” and on the museum website https://shakers.org. Happy Friday! (Photos by Amy L.
