their romance kind of works?? like I low key actually ship them now?? they both have secrets and difficult pasts, they both aspire great power and "ascension", they both enjoy choosing the more chaotic options and love a little violence

and oh my gods in the last battle I did, Shadowheart went down and the absolute pain in Astarion's voice when he said "Shadowheart, no!" 😭 okay Neil you didn't have to slay so hard with your voice acting

gale can't figure out why his ears are burning...

"Very well, you may drink my blood tonight," Shadowheart suggests, as if condescendingly or favorably, but in reality with a desire to feed the vampire spawn. Astarion supports this "disgruntled" game of the Shar's cleric.

She's only being mean for the show. Since she allowed him to feed from her neck, the vampire spawn has become much more powerful in battles. The wolves are fed and the sheep are safe.

Shadowheart waits for him in the tent under cover of darkness. Although, in the Shadowcursed Lands, it seems like it was eternal night.

Shadowheart only pretends to sleep. She hears quiet footsteps with the corner of her ear. Astarion, as if by accident, carefully places the idol of Shar down so it won't disturb either of them and lies down next to Shadowheart. Instead of the tangible and always painful bites, the cleric felt his nose press against the base of her neck, and his strong hand pulled her body very close, as if a teaspoon had been placed inside a larger one, just as the cleric had imagined. Although, lying like this was quite comfortable. If he needed to breathe, his hot breath would clearly burn her delicate skin.

Shadowheart turned to him without saying anything, and simply hugged him tightly, pressing herself against Astarion. No bite followed. Was the vampire boy really not in the mood for that today? So be it.

Shadowheart simply kissed him. Gently. First on the cheek—almost weightlessly, like an awkward, embarrassed child—then on the forehead, the tip of the nose, and finally, on the lips. She exhaled loudly into a gentle kiss and hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go. So cozy and loving, as if the very darkness of the goddess Shar envelops her with care.

Her hand reaches for his curls, twirling them around her fingers. Such pleasant curls. Astarion slides down a little lower and wraps his arm around her waist, nuzzling her belly. It's even more comfortable this way.

The cleric simply strokes his head in this awkward, yet so needed silence. In their case, words would be superfluous.

In the morning, when she wakes, she will find a small bouquet of night orchids. A sweet reciprocal gift for all she does for him.

He hasn't felt so calm as he does with her in a long time.

So I actually cosplay Shadowheart irl. I recently made a rather last minute Selune Spear of Night. I met Neil Newbon on the weekend...and the first thing he said to me was, "can I PLEASE stab you with that?"

As we were posing, he said , "first date!"

An absolute sweetheart tbh. And hilarious.

I also met Jennifer English and wanted to cry BC she was so lovely.

In two weeks , I will be meeting Dave Jones and Samantha Beart (Samantha is someone I have wanted to meet for AGES)
