I decided to re-name this story since “Yager4″ is pretty well.. basic and while there are Yagers in this, they are not always the focus. Anyway, I broke things up into “chapters” for those who want to read it but can only really do short bursts at a time.

“So she can teleport and has the gift of the shadowflame, I don’t see why you couldn’t have taught her to control that. Especially given how many people in your family exhibit those abilities.” 

“Malachi?” 

“I... I heard you got a new boyfriend.” 

“Are you jealous?” 

“Extremely.. it turns out I’m a pretty fucking insecure creature that couldn’t stand the idea of sharing you once I started sleeping with you. Estra, I knew what the binding was.” 

“I kind of had a feeling you did. I didn’t want to think that way but... it was hard to push it out of my mind sometimes and I was starting to get angry about it. I am okay with it being gone, it’s good to know how I really feel. What I want.” 

“Well? What do you want?” 

“You.. I think.. but I also think we may have to start over to some extent. Actually get to know each other? See if I can fully trust you?” 

“Yes... and another deep regret from the depths of my past.” 

“Then why not dispel it? You clearly could.” 

“Curses like that are purged individually once they are in place. In order for all the Hasari to be cleansed I would need all living descendants of the original line. Unfortunately I can no longer leave this place and only individuals with a particular connection to it can come here. Both you and Estra have ancestors that used to walk these woods.”

“Are you sure? Most of my family has been in the Union since The Degeneration.” 

“Not your mother’s side. Your mother had to be one of Hennie’s. Knew as soon as I saw your conjurations. Very rare ability, very destructive if handled carelessly.”
