this felt like a low. since rumi had found out more about elias and the anomalies that stood separately from her, she'd been thinking moree and more about the implications of everything that was going on. but she had no one to talk to about it. mira or zoey wouldn't understand. the thoughts were eating her alive, she'd nearly worn a hole through the rug in her bedroom that she'd been pacing on, talking to herself in a furious whisper. it pained her, but there was only one person she could be honest with, one person who actually understood it all...
so she heard sent the tiger with a note asking him to meet her at the edge of hatchaway cemetary to talk, figuring it was one of the few places that they would be able to speak with some privacy. rumi couldn't help but regret it once she arrived, though, standing there alone and looking out was creepier than she expected. she didn't mind creepy when it came to slaying demons, but this felt like something else.
rumi shuddered, and fiddled with the ends of the scarf that she had wrapped around her neck. her phone buzzed for a moment with a text from zoey, and she felt guilty as she silenced her phone and shoved it deeper into her jacket pocket.
"oh, come on..." she muttered out loud, presumably to herself, toeing at a loose stone in the sidewalk. "there's no way he stands me up. no one stands me up."
