Part 5 (final) of the Radiant Collection
The final piece of the Radiant Collection, Shadow's Edge is a sentient artifact.
One of the three gems used from Radiant Sister to forge this shield, served as a connection to Rosalind's sister Shadow, who ruled over a layer of the Abyss.
Severed from the connection to her goddess after being shattered, Shadow's influence was unchecked and eventually began to take over the shield, The Luck Bringer and transform it into Shadow's Edge.

âThis round shield was created using the shattered fragments of a legendary longsword. Something dark and powerful took hold within one of the fragments and now this shield, once golden and made to protect, can cause as much pain as the sharpest blade. It has three large orbs embedded in it in a triangle pattern. The one at the top is larger, and dark crimson in color, the others, once gold, are now a pale yellow.â
While holding this shield, you have a +3 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC. Additionally, you have resistance to radiant and necrotic damage.
Whenever a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to reflect damage back, dealing bludgeoning damage equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1) + 6. You can use this property a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses on a long rest.
Stunning Shadows. When you deal damage using your reaction after taking damage, you can force the target to make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of your next turn. Once you use this property of the shield you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
Absorb Pain. When you are subjected to an effect that requires a saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage on a success, and heal for an amount equal to your class level plus your proficiency bonus. Once you use this property of the shield you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
Sentience. Shadowâs Edge is a sentient chaotic neutral shield with an Intelligence of 17, a Wisdom of 10, and a Charisma of 19. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
The shield can speak, read, and understand Common, Abyssal, Sylvan and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. The voice is feminine, deep and echoing. While attuned to it, it also understands every language you know.
Personality. Shadowâs Edge speaks with an overbearing tone, as though accustomed to being obeyed and never questioned. Its patience wears thin very quickly. The shield's purpose is to strengthen itself, and the one who wields it. It doesnât care if its user dies, as that means they werenât worthy enough to hold it. Destroying the Artifact. The sentience within the shield comes from the gem, but claims it is another being that lives within the abyss. Once a mortal, this entity known as Shadow, seeks to cleanse the abyss but has some ties to this shield. If the gem is struck by a weapon reforged from the same shards as the shield, it can be destroyed, severing Shadowâs bond to the shield. When trying to destroy the shield, it has AC 24, 50 hit points, and immunity to all damage, except from the artifact weapons, Changebringer and Bright Daughter.
