As meek and gentle as she might have been, the fishy woman still managed to put in more than enough work for her housemates, being one of the few of them that actually partook in doing a job. Sure, Pearl still wasn’t fully aware of how she’d been placed with her otherworldly ‘mates or what they really were supposed to be doing, yet that did nothing to keep from doing more than her part. She’d go off to fufill her job as a receptionist at a monster run company—whilst making sure that her lunch break didn’t go to waste, as well as putting all those little snacks she had with her and the candies on her desk to a good home—return home in time to help clean things up, get food, interact with her other set of friends, doing whatever need be to keep things afloat.

But what she didn’t expect, waking up one morning, was to find the floor shaking underneath her feet when she got out of her bed. Forced to a slow waddle, attempting to hurry the best she could with her thighs rubbing against one another, Pearl was shocked to find what was staring back at her in the mirror.

Her face had rounded out nicely, framed by green locks of hair as her cheeks brushed up against her ear-fins. Two more chins had been added onto her singular one, a roll of fat resting above where her collar bone could once be found. Shoulders had broadened greatly, the adipose packed into them spreading down into her arms and rendering them more like thick hams than proper limbs.

A flabby hand went up to try and cup a breast, the fish’s fun bags had bloated to become as round as melons, pressing against one another and threatening to snap her bra with the slightest movement. Her belly had ballooned outwards, rolls developing and overwhelming her lap: down Pearl’s stomach hung, pushing against her thighs, feeling more like a fleshy beanbag chair than a small paunch. Not even her lower half had been spared, rolls swallowing up her knees like a doughy prison. Any chances at seeing her feet were close to none, though she wouldn’t be upset at having the capability to uphold her bulk.

Now reduced to a lardy land whale with an ocean’s worth of blubber packed upon her, Pearl let out a nervous little click, pursing out her soft lips as she looked herself over. Oh, this was going to be troublesome when it came to her day... How would anyone NOT notice the blubbery leviathan that she had become, seven feet tall and about just as wide?

“M-maybe they won’t mind it if I put in more effort...” Pearl hopefully whispered to herself, putting on a shaky smile in an attempt to motivate herself. The only answer she’d be getting in return was her bra snapping off and going soaring off, unable to handle her bulk anymore.
