Well, you had me fall in love with Henry and Walter with your superb writing @sflow-er! It wasn't a pairing I had any sort of feeling for whatsoever until reading your fics!

19 Shout out a fanfic author for their writing of a secondary character (or characters) in a subplot

I am not sure about subplot, but @zee-has-commitment-issues's Reckless abandon has some seriously wicked characterisation of all the secondary characters. I have so much love for that fic! And I really liked @bluedalahorse's drabble series Makes the Medicine Go Down, featuring a grown-up Vincent seen through the eyes of other people.

7 Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

I don’t actually like my own prose, and often just see it as a ‘means to an end’, which is awful, I know. But I wanted to answer the question, so I’ve scoured my fics for something that I’m not cringing about sharing. This is the opening from Making Music.

Simon stepped down off the bus and tugged nervously at the hem of his hoodie. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and started walking towards the building, pulling his holdall higher onto his shoulder. Hillerska was old and tired, but still held some of the gravitas that it must have had when it had been a boarding school for Sweden’s elite. Now though, it was just a memory; lending its halls to functions and events and trying to maintain its position of importance whilst slowly crumbling away into insignificance.

I’m proud of it because I love the idea of Hillerska being gone 😂

8 Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Conversely, I love writing dialogue. It’s how I find it easiest to forward the plot. This is from my very first fic, Please Try Again Later, and was the scene where I realised I love writing dialogue, and I love Rosh and Ayub being the voice of reason.

“It’s so fucked up. His brother fucking died, what am I supposed to do?”

“What do you want to do?” asked Rosh.

“I don’t know!” Simon said. “I just wanted to be … normal with him.”

Ayub laughed. “Well that was fucking brainless wasn’t it? He’s the Prince of Sweden, bro. It was never going to be normal.”

Simon laughed at that. “Yeah I know. I just wish it hadn’t got so messy so quickly.” He covered his face with his hands and groaned. “Why am I such a disaster?”

“Because you insisted on falling in love with the fucking Prince of Sweden,” Rosh said, looking at him pointedly.

10 Which fic has been the easiest to write?

Making Music. I’m a generally slow writer. I type fairly fast, but I have very little free time, and I’m not great at taking advantage of small moments to write. But I wrote all 15k of that in two days (started whilst watching my kiddo’s gymnastics class 😂). It probably could have done with some more editing, but I was so pleased that I’d actually managed to get the story down exactly as I wanted it. It was a gift for the wonderful @purplehoodiesandclementines and I think writing for someone else was such a thrill and a good motivator.

I have been dying to talk about this. I don't want to give too much away because I am way too excited for me to post the idea and the have someone subconsciously steal it lmao. But it's an AU.

Wilhelm is still Crown Prince, and he is out of the closet. However, Hillerska didn't exist, so most of them didn't go to school together. Simon gets a job singing in Felice's speakeasy and then they all end up involved in something that's not exactly legal. One of the tags on this fic is absolutely going to be "they're all gay but it's a plot point" and we will be exploring two ace main characters (Henry and Felice).

I'm really really excited about it. I have it all planed out. It's probably going to be 9 or 10 chapters, my biggest project since Screwed. And I already said this ten times but I am so excited.

Here's part of the first chapter:

“You called me ‘Your Majesty.’ That’s incorrect. I’m not a king yet, so the correct way to refer to me is ‘Your Highness.’” The explanation didn’t go entirely over Simon’s head, but it did seem like an inappropriate time for this conversation given the gravity of what was just asked. But the Crown Prince just took another sip of his whiskey and pretended like this entire thing wasn’t completely absurd. “The people I like call me Wille, though.” 

Their eyes met for a moment. A lingering one. Simon allowed himself a second to study the other man this time, and he knew that Wilhelm was talking about him. “And what if those people don’t like you back?”

2. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

I learned a lot about myself, good and bad, as a writer this year. The most ridiculous thing, though, is that I, apparently, love commas. They are my favorite thing. I really really need to cut down on commas. I use so many commas. The amount of commas Dani deletes from my works is insane and there are still a million.

I also found out that "Unhinged Hours" are really really good for crack fics. Every crack fic I've written has been planned or executed during an unhinged moment.

8. What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?

Simon Eriksson: Just Some Guy From Biology. I adored this fic. I was giggling to myself the whole time. It was the first time I wrote an entirely self-indulgent crack fic, and it came out pretty good, I think.

21. If you had to choose one, what was THE most satisfying writing moment of your year?

Ahhhhh there are so many moments with my writing that I was like damn. I can't pick just one. I've narrowed it down to 3 because I'm dramatic: the night I finished the first draft of Screwed, the podfic for Just Some Guy being put out (thank you @willesworld), and finding out Twitter loves Screwed. Those are the top three moments of the year. The dramatic in me would put them in the top 15 moments of my life, but I know that's just the 2am talking.

Hej💜 I for sure still am doing it, and would love for more asks. It will take me some time to answer though since I wanna try to give it some thought (I also realized that I had read even more fics this year than last so the list is long)

4.            the fanfic you would recommande for somebody not in the fandom This one is tricky. Do we mean someone that hasn't seen the show at all or just isn't as big of a fan? If it is a person used to fanfiction I would recommend Is it Over Now? by @iwouldnevergetintofanfic (or Foolproof... or Share Your Address). For someone completely outside of this realm I think I would recommend Ripki's darling, lost in the darkling woods or 'This The Damn Season by littelbluefish. But I guess that mainly depends on the person I am recommending it to. All of these have such a different vibe. Thinking of it more, Share Your Address would probably work without being used to the fanfic-format. (I realized now that I swerved outside of 2025... does rereads count?) (I have recommended Just Some Guy by @zee-has-commitment-issues and Flowers in the Dustbin by @oneofthosebells for my friend that told me that I would probably like Young Royals. She has seen the show, only once (crazy) and that is about it. But that was last year so it might not count.)

4 a story idea you haven’t written yet

I’ve already answered this here and here. But I have so many! I had a very vague thing come to me the other day where Simon is a teacher and Wille is doing school visits or has some other reason to be there. But very little else has come to mind about it other than an obviously very prickly start, which is always fun to write.

12 a trope you’re really into right now

I answered this here. (But putting out another plea for someone to answer this for me. Or maybe give me a trope to try out!)

14 where do you get your inspiration?

I… don’t know! That’s such a rubbish answer. But I’m not sure. I hadn’t written anything creative for decades before fanfic hit me in the face, and I was always so bad at creative writing at school. So I’m not sure what it is. It started with a moment in canon that I thought “what if?” and I think a few of my fics have been that. My current newest WIP came to me whilst I was losing my mind in a Claire’s Accessories for AN HOUR and I needed to make my brain do something. A slightly chaotic voice note to the group chat and the assurance that it wasn’t fake nail glue melting my brain and voila! Fic idea!

01. Favorite secondary character

Sara. She is so interesting and complex and her arc from beginning to end is my favorite in the show, it was done so well.

03. Favorite platonic friendship

Felice and Sara. It has been said before but I love how their friendship is treated and considered so important. And I love seeing their journey from reluctant horse-sharers to best friends. It's so sweet and relatable to see how much Sara craves friendship and is so happy when she connects with Felice and actually gains her own best friend, something I think has been said or implied she never had before.

09. Favorite non-Edmar actor

Idk if it's meant as favourite person or favourite acting besides Edvin or Omar but my favourite acting has to be Malte and/or Frida. They are such incredible performers and the way they play those characters with all their depths is so amazing. Especially Malte deserves so much recognition for the way he plays August, how he can be such a slimy douchebag but also portray his vulnerable and insecure side and he nails it all and makes it so fascinating to watch him. I saw them both in Fejk as well and I love seeing them in more different roles.
