Canadian Sex Workers, advice please!
Recently relocated from America and set up my first Canadian banking account with Prospera. New to Canada, I had no idea they couldnāt force me to answer their employment questions. I tried to evade, I asked to not answer, but in the end I had to disclose my legal sex work job. The next 10 minutes were the banker's unsolicited ādisclaimerā about how I can never be on a mortgage or loan through them due to my job. And now the main branch is telling me there might be a 12 USD charge to every direct deposit I have into my account (yowch!) Since Iām paid primarily through online pay methods, that fee is going to devour my income.Ā So who do you bank with? Is there any British Columbia based banks that might be more sex work friendly? Or at least, wonāt force me to answer illegal employment questions and then shame for me 20 minutes about my legal job?Ā All I need is a bank account that can take direct deposit from sites like Niteflirt and Manyvids. I donāt need any frills, and Iād just settle for a bank I can enter without feeling like Iām going to have a panic attack.Ā
