The 1964 earthquake hit Prince William Sound not with what you normally think of in terms of earthquakes but rather with a massive tsunami. Life as people knew it in Valdez, Whittier, Seward as well as other small communities was altered dramatically. Many of the industries and jobs in Seward we relocated as a result of such a harsh blow. Reborn now as more of a tourist town than one of massive industry, it still has plenty of story to tell.
