Honestly probably my main kink in fics!! Especially D/s and exploring the amount of trust involved, the gratification in giving over control of their body to someone they love, the happiness of someone trusting them to give their pleasure and pain over to them? Don't even get me started on how much I feel like it can transcend beyond romance

Armor Kink: +8

Tony's armor? Yes. Medieval armor? Yes. Just solid and unyielding metal against soft, hot skin? FUCKING. YES!

Sex Pollen: +3

I do like it, but I prefer the mindless desperation to come from wanting each other and not from outside sources. Although I do love it a lot if it's used as a plot device to push the characters together!

Noncon: +7

Oh, YES. I love it when it's coupled with angst and pain, but it has to involve the entire ship and make them both suffer - not just noncon for the sake of noncon, if that makes sense?

I don't actively avoid it, but... It occasionally makes me uncomfortable. I guess it depends a lot on how it's written.

God, it really depends. If it's full-on drunkenness? Eeeeh, sometimes. If it's being tipsy with lowered inhibitions and giggling and doing things they have otherwise denied themselves? Bring it the fuck on!!

Tentacles: +6

I prefer this with both parts of the couple involved, not just wild tentacles + one character. But you won't catch me saying no to it anytime soon.

Sexting: +3

If it's in really inopportune times, like one/both of them are in a meeting/in public and getting desperate without being able to do anything about it, otherwise I don't really care much for it.

I don't turn away from it, but it's rare that I get excited for it.

Y E S. I have to admit I kinda prefer vampires especially for their crazed bloodlust and latching onto someone like a bloodbag? Though that kinda works with the cute puppy-like werewolf following their love too. (Extra points if the vampire or werewolf in question is being a sweet little sub and holding back their urges really nicely to not hurt their partner~)

Once I thought that I would never be able to find a writer who can let a story flow from under their fingers like it’s water. Beautiful, easily interpreted, and filled to the brim with feelings. Well that is until I read your works.

This very letter is to the one and only Ptero.

I remember a small conversation we had about naming characters for devastation!XL fics and ever since then, I have been waiting for the day when I will be able to read that fic of yours, checking the TGCF tag and your page way too frequently. (Mostly hoping that you would post it soon so I can scream about it in this letter.)

This Tender Heart of Fire was the first fic I was lucky to read by you. I already felt that you had so deep understanding of the characters and you play around emotions and sensations so well. The varying length of the sentences building up tension, the beautiful expressions and light phrases just make it feel like it was written by a professional.

It just fit so well. Emotions, touches, descriptions: everything has its own place and time. Perfect, yet unexpected, not taking away the magic by being predictable and bland. It is far from that. You are the spice that made it just right.

The feelings of remorse, hurt that appeared in there, the uncertainty and regret, I can still recall them up to this day, that is how much of an impact you had on me.

And don’t get me started on your newest fic… I wish I was joking when I say that I had to stop reading Black Sword Beheads Flowers two (2) paragraphs in, because the imaginary was simply overwhelming me, it felt like I slipped into their world already. You built up a completely different world, yet it’s not devoid of life: it stays true to the canonical descriptions and doesn’t stray away from the character’s personalities, yet it’s something new and polished. I was already feeling immersed this early on.

The story grabbed me right away and made me want to read more and more to the point where I couldn’t put it down until I read it to the end. I got pushed to the edge of my seat and stayed there, waiting and anticipating more and damn, did you deliver.

At this point I don’t want to point out yet again just how well written your story is, because I feel like I’m repeating myself like a record player already.

I could instantly imagine Xie Lian’s ghostly beauty, Hua Cheng giving all of himself to him, their conversations fluid and characters felt like real participants and not just actors who read their lines - they felt undoubtedly real.

The story is original and far from being cliché. The characters lively and true, and I just. Can’t. Get. Enough.

And!!! I’m so glad that E-Ming is a cutie and he gets the justice he deserves.

Ptero, your fics literally gave me chills when I thought that it wasn’t possible to make me feel this much while reading fanfics.

Your works are amazing, stories captivating, characters top notch and developed to a very high level. I really, truly wish that I will have opportunities in the future to read more of your work.

God yes please! Codependent but also constantly bickering couples? Slightly messy codependency, where they can't exist with each other but also can't stand to live without each other?? Sign me tf up

Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +8

Within reasonable and sane limits, yes! I absolutely love possessiveness, and the nearly feral possessive urges, marking their partner as theirs, a possessive arm around the waist, a deep kiss right in front of everyone, making sure to stake their claim?? (However with obsession I feel like there is a time and a place?)

Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +3

Not exactly scoring this for character archetypes, because I refuse that grumpy/sunshine is an actual term, but I DO love when opposites apply to character circumstances or the characters come from opposing backgrounds and have to realize just how similar they actually are!

Friends with benefits: +7 / +11

+11 if they actually end up in a relationship, because I can't stand it if in the end they aren't absolutely GONE for each other. Especially if one (or both) party is already so deep in love and convinced that this is the only way they can actually have the other??

The "We're just using each other because it's convenient- FUCK I'M IN LOVE WITH HIM" is actually chef's kiss!! But I still prefer to have some feelings already involved at the start.

I'm mostly neutral on this, because on one hand, I kinda like some poly ships but don't actively seek it out in fics, but on the other hand open relationships are a bit of an ick for me.

Mistaken/hidden identity: +9

IDENTITY PORN!!! Gets a single score docked off because it's grouped with mistaken identity - it just doesn't have the same star power imo

Pregnancy: NOPE

Instant scroll on for me. I did read some fics with this before, but not even the best one is worth how damn uncomfortable this makes me.

(Though if it's about breeding kink in m/m fiction? Yeah, sure! (Don't ask me how my brain works.))

Slowburn: +8

ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SLOWBURN IS IN THE ROMANCE (and they already fuck before professing feelings). There is also a fine line for me, beyond which the story just feels like it's dragging on for the sake of making the burn even slower, but it's incredibly rare that I don't eat it up completely.
