Edmund Avery's revenge
Forever thinking about Avery's revenge spree in the 1990s. How after the Death Eatrs took over the Ministry he was finally able to get all of his anger that he had been harvesting for almost 20 years out.
Juliette had been killed, she had been dead for nearly two decades, right before they were about to start the rest of their lives together, yet so many muggleborns got to live?? They were the ones who were in the wrong! They were just as bloody as he was, so why should they get to live their lives out when Juliette couldn't??
He started with the people he knew. Iola Hillicker, someone who was in their house at Hogwarts and somehow tricked the hat into thinking she was worthy of Slytherin despite not being a pureblood. She had been lying to everyone about her blood status because she was ashamed! He started with her and her younger sister.
Then came Olivia Gleaves, a Hufflepuff in his year from school. Another Muggleborn who didn't deserve to live more then Juliette did. He killed her and her younger brother.
he went through his list, ticking off nearly every Muggleborn he attended school with, and every one of their screams got sweeter then the last. Some were more personal then others, but nothing hit home more then his last.
Charity Burbage, a girl who was once his friend, but couldn't be any longer. She hadn't been his friend in a long time.
He never had anything against Charity while they knew each other, but she was different now. Now she taught at Hogwarts, now she told children that they should be reproducing with Muggles, filling their heads with propaganda that they could never get away with. Now she helped affected Muggle families in secret, and acted as if she had always thought this way.
And she wasn't the only one. Surprisingly, there was one much larger reason to get rid of her, that being of Severus Snape.
Severus had been one of his closest friends, and as all things were considered, still techinally was, only he hadn't been, not in Edmunds eyes, not for 20 years.
Severus was a coward. He switched sides as he pleased and didn't care who he burned in the prosess.
Edmund remeberes the night Juliette died. She, along with Evan Rosier (another dead friend) and some of the other Death Eaters were all sent on a mission, to attack a local council meeting in Kent. Juliette had been put on the mission at the last minuet, and Severus didn't know she was apart of the group until she had already left.
Edmund remembered the look in his eyes when he found out, the pure dread and betrayal spoke clear as day. When they found out that the team had been ambushed and that everyone, including Juliette and Evan had died, Severus couldn't look any of them in the eye.
Edmund was smart, and he knew the look of a guilty man when he saw one. His suspicions had been confimed after the war, when he found out that Severus was now with Dumbledore, and had apparently been a spy, avoiding azkaban altogether.
Severus had started teaching at Hogwarts, and remained friends with Charity. Edmund remembered their bond from school, they were tick as thieves. Part of his always considered that they may have been in love.
So, what was he supposed to do?
If Severus wanted to take his love away, then he would have no problem returning the favour.
And it wasn't like he was going to kill her anyway. That was reserved for The Dark Lord himself.
As they watched Charity’s body plummet on the table, Edmunds eyes never left Severus' face.
Revenge had never tasted better.
