Neville & Luna- 

A fave, tbh. @spectrespecced​ and I are working on a lot of ideas with these two! I think they’re two that really meshed well, and I wish we’d gotten to see more of them in the books together.  I really don’t like how it was handled in the film with the whole “i gotta tell her i love her bc i may die!!” because I think it’s out of character for Nev, even under such pressure.  I  like the idea of them secretly dating from their fifth year on, a sweet little secret they can share with one another.  I think they are a sweet match. 

Neville & Ginny- 

Iiiiii don’t know about this one. I’m so, so fond of them as being such wonderful close friends that I can’t really see them romantically together.  Neville thinks she’s brilliant, and no doubt beautiful, but she’s just? His best friend.  And I am really fond of that idea, of them being best friends.  Because I think they are two that really need strong friendships after all they endure during school– Ginny with her traumatic incident with the diary, shit with harry, quidditch, her family home.  And Nev– Frequently bullied, the trauma of finding out Madeye was actually a man whom tortured his parents, shit with his parents, and both of them dealing with Deatheaters and stuff.  

I mean, maybe it could happen with the write development and a close bond between muns, but I’m rather content with a loving friendship.

Neville & Ron- 

Tbh I’ve never considered this ship at all? Is it a thing? I’m never really thought on it.  I think it could be fun to do a plot where he’s crushing on Ron and he’s afraid to tell Ginny.  But this is one of those ships that I would have to see develop truly organically, because I don’t know if any sort of prior plotting could get me on board.  Ron was kind of.. Dickish to Nev behind his back? And that kind of puts me off lmao.  I mean, a lot of folks were kind of cruel to Nev behind his back, but Ron sticks out the most to me in the Gryffindor house.  

Neville & Harry-

whew I’ve got big feelings about Nev and Harry. I love it a lot. As terrible as it may be im so down with unrequited Heville. Hotter? Narry? idk wtf their ship is called. Anyway. I’m 1000% convinced Nev had a deep friend crush on Harry that was actually romantic, but he couldn’t exactly understand what those feelings meant.  Or if they’d be acceptable.  Plus Ginny liked Harry, so it’d be wrong to do that to your best friend- Gun for their crush.  Also Harry was So Cool and The Chosen One and he was just.. Neville. 

Harry always stood up for Neville, though. Even when Nev did something that Harry was probably annoyed with? Telling Nev he’s worth twelve Malfoys? Risking expulsion for Nev’s remembrall? Really helpin Nev out in DA? Also Nev’s gran deadass is just like “yeah Neville talks about you a lot harry.”  Neville appreciates Harry so much. 

I like this ship a lot.  But I feel like itd be more one-sided, with Nev into Harry, than anything else. At least, that’s what Neville’s telling himself at the moment. 

Neville & Hermione-

There is an odd, sort of contemplative silence for a few moments. Abernathy is someone he’s seen very minimally, but objectively he has many features considered attractive in human mates- excepting his height, of course, but Newt isn’t the sort to be bothered by having a mate that’s nearly a foot shorter than him.

He had no need to be wearing his ignition gloves, but it was colder than he thought it would be and so he had left his thicker in his desk. So now all he had to protect his sensitive hands from the cold was the thin white gloves.

okay no this is a good question and something i hardly ever pay much mind to? bella obviously is naturally ambitious but i feel like a lot of her ideas on the future were… forced on her? like in my mind there’s pureblood culture, and especially for a big house such as the house of Black, there are expectation you need to adhere to, especially as a woman? (incredibly sexist if you think about it, but like, i don’t think the wizarding community didn’t suffer from sexism and racism and discrimination beyond that which we see in the books—-by which i mean discrimination against halfbloods and muggleborns and werewolves and all. like everyday issues in our world are also things at play in the wizarding community—–but i suppose that’s a different story lmao ANOTHER DAY PERHAPS)

But yeah anyway, i guess as far as ambition goes, she thought herself to…. become a good matriarch? she had… I guess ideas of what she could be, like idk an active researcher of magical artifacts? someone who’d go out into the field to find these things? or someone working with magical creatures? but in her mind they were nothing more than “wouldn’t it be cool if…” matters, things that would never really happen but were fun to think about. in her mind she’d do what every woman in her family must do and that is to continue the pureblood lines. and it’s not like this was something she hated, she wanted children, but i think that if tom riddle never, yknow, swanned in, she would have become restless and…. hm, caused a riot of her own, or a scandal. 

His femininity was not a flaw but it was consistently treated like one <.< Not to mention his appearance ( while holding many brown and feminine codes ) consistently being referred to as ugly always gave me Bad Vibes. I was shocked when Rickman was casted but then I was like ‘that is a really good way to save face lmfao’

1. On formatting.

Oh gosh, I’ve definitely talked about this before but I am willing to hop on my soap box again about this. I’m really not a fussy person, if you want to use a giant gif? You go ahead and use that big old face, that’s cool with me. You want to use no icon or gif at all? That’s cool, your writing conveys enough expression for me. However, when you start formatting for the sake of formatting? This is where I take issue? To me, writing is about writing. It’s about the words, the tone, the voice etc...and sometimes, italicising or bolding a word emphasises that voice and it’s fantastic. 

But when words are bolded, or underlined, italicised, made randomly bigger or smaller or the thousands of other crazy formatting trends that are purely for aesthetic and not to enhance the writing...I switch off. I can’t read it. It doesn’t flow right to me, my mind is emphasising words that don’t need to be emphasised. I lose the writing, and my eyes are drawn to the bold words or highlighted dialogue first. There’s not necessarily anything wrong with it, and good for you if you make your things look good...Lord knows mine don’t. However, I literally just can’t read it...so tend to just stay in my own little corner of minimal formatting. 

Also...some of the best writers ever do not use these fancy things and get little to no recognition as they are perceived as not ‘quality’ or ‘popular’ and therefore not worth the time. Can we please start to look at the writing again, instead of fancy blogs and fancy posts? 

4. On your fandom.

The HP fandom is hands down the best fandom I’ve ever been in. Granted, I haven’t actually been in that many. Maybe it’s that the majority of us are slightly older, maybe it’s that we have a whole wealth of things to play with, books, movies, interviews, pottermore, fanon. We have an entire world, and spin offs from that and the creativity and imagination that allows is just insane. The writing talent in this fandom puts me to shame daily and I really think I’ve become a better writer since having this indie. There’s minimal drama here, in fact I really don’t think there’s been any? Most people are friendly and welcoming and all in all...best fandom ever, would highly recommend. 

17. On multi-muse blogs.

Well...I have a multi-muse blog, so I think I can safely say I feel pretty positive about them? Bring me all your muses, come at me and let me write with every character going. Really, as long as there’s some info on who you play and who is available for me to write with, and if you send me a meme I know who you’re sending it from...I am all about the multi life.
