Good for them. I would have liked to focus on more of the Mercs instead of Merasmus, but I won’t complain about Soldier getting his happy ending.

Spy is a real one, as usual. And we love him for that.

Pauling and Scout not getting together was a lot more peaceful than I imagined, and Scout was actually the one to initiate it! Kind of sudden, but I’m glad he decided to look for someone who is interested.

However:

I don’t like the idea of Jeremy following in his mother’s cycle of relationships, minus the good partner that had to go away.

For one thing, it means that he doesn’t find the one for him. But the big one for me is that both parents are important, and there are going to be consequences for not having a mom. Different from the behavioral problems Scout and his brother’s had without a dad, and I have no doubt Jeremy will do a good job as a dad, but the effects will still be felt.

But there’s something bothering me more.

I don’t.. I don’t think Spy told Jeremy who he is.

Maybe they’re implying he’ll end up telling him later, but it’s been seven years???? They’re not.. They’re not honestly saying he’s never gonna tell Scout, right? And that’s he’s going to be in the kids’ lives, but not as their grandpa… RIGHT?!?!

I might have to consider that particular nugget non-canon. It’s certainly not the worst case scenario for Spy and Scout, but I’m a dadspy person and I do not accept.
