Gunstar Heroes OST - Boss 2 (Seven Force Theme)
This has to go down as one of my favorite boss battles in a 2D video game. You have to recognize patterns in the bosses attacks, dodge, and counterattack all in the same motion.
Those little condensed moments of absolute madness are the kind of things I would want to have in Space Cadet Grey
The weapon system would work in a similar fashion to GH, but the major difference would be how each default weapon + element combo will work to your favor in battle. You can use any weapon you'd like to get the job done, but some enemies will have particular weaknesses that you can exploit, your job is to find out which out of the 12 weapons at your disposal can give you that upper hand.
Finding an enemy's weakness doesn't always grant you an easy victory, however: The opening to use a specific weapon to deal big damage might be very brief (or in some cases, you only get one shot). Some baddies might even change their attack pattern drastically, making you have to do the same to keep up.
