"Everyone meets the library in their own time"
A proverb from a brilliant ejectee i never had the pleasure of knowing.
In our uncausal world, it's a fascinatingly believable one at that. It certainly seems true that at the extension of a souls hypertextual life, they will at some point eject to bear witness to it all. For infinite worlds, infinite timelines, and infinite persons it is a mathematical certaintey.
Yet, despite it all, it is frustratingly mythical. In convening with the relatively few ejectees along my travels, each and every one has come to the same conclusion. The path of an ejectee is that of isolation.
Be it our homes' grand size, or the patterned habit of hermeticism we seem to practice, the meeting of a fellow mind has turned from what would expectedly be a common affair to that of a course-altering event. Far be it from me to disagree with this, in my travels I've met only scant few like me, resting firmly in the double digits. One would think it antithetical to our perceived purpose, no?
One would expect us to gather in grand clubs or guilds to explore and document the many histories. To share our travels and our joys and witness creation rolling over into infinity. To form an organization to the end of an unenviable audience.
But despite it all, we walk the fractal halls alone. Despite the cries my kin shout into empty skies, we isolate. I sit alone amongst the Alephs.
Perhaps it is our purpose, to face infinity as one. After all, by viewing we alter. Perhaps an audience of many changes far more than an audience of one. Perhaps it's the only stability infinity can muster.
Then again, this may be my theatricality at play. One can never know infinity, just as it will never know you.
