My first time setting up my Ludwig Rocker kit as a jazz kit with the floor tom converted to a bass drum using the Pearl Jungle Conversion Kit. I had to sit a little lower than normal and only used a three piece - snare; tom; converted floor tom. With hi-hat; ride; medium. In order to sound check we only had a short time to set up and get mics in position. Initially I set my tom too low and too flat. Everyone's done that, right? Swipe to view. After sound check I had the time to set a better angle and raised it a couple of inches. This made my set much more compact and comfortable. I was also able to move the cymbals closer and get the heights right.
