So you are on a mile long zepplin. It is moving at a rate of 30 miles an hour. You start at the back of the zepplin and mosey to the front at a rate of 1 mile an hour (you're stopping for a G&T at the bar, of course). After one hour, you have moved 31 miles in space so can you reasonably say that YOU were moving 31 miles an hour? Or is it unreasonable to describe the zepplin's movement as complimenting your own?
