full name: seth alexander thompson nicknames: des birthday: july 3 age: 30s gender/pronouns: transs-male, he/his hometown: greensboro, north carolina sign: cancer religion: spiritual orientation: bisexual occupation: pharmacist family: jacoby thompson (father), esther thompson (mother), linus thompson (brother), sapphira thompson (sister) +: altruistic, ethical, faithful, virtuous -: naive, gullible, lonely, desperate blurb: seth was raised fairly religious in a traditional family in the south. there were a lot of things that the thompsons didn't encourage, namely homosexuality. as a young person living in the wrong body, seth tried to come to terms with who he was. he was a 'tomboy' but still had feminine interests, enough so that his parents encouraged him to embrace that side of himself. so, for many years, he fought who he truly was. they accepted his relationship with a woman while he was still identifying as one though it was an arduous path back to any semblance of normalcy, and seth knew his family would never look at him the same way. brilliant and motivated, seth did well in school juggling academics and placements on the track/field team as well as the basketball team. he met his future wife in high school, and that was when they began dating. two years out of high school, they were living together and doing the damned thing. three years after that, they were married, seth was in grad school, and something had to give. he'd been on forums for years, hiding his true self. he finally decided to come out to his wife first, but, when she didn't take the news well, he was terrified to go further. he shrunk in on himself, tried to be the person she and his family wanted, but it resulted in long bouts of depression and he could hardly look at himself much less stand to exist. he finally ripped the proverbial band-aid off, losing his wife and family in the process. as luck would have it, he got an internship far away from north carolina. he left, but he keeps looking back, keeps hoping that his family will come around and accept him again, even if he hasn't spoken to them in years. in his new city, he could be anyone he wanted to be, so he started making friends for himself. he dated casually, found a crowd that accepts him, but, mostly, he works and keeps to his small group of friends. he goes on dates occasionally but he's fearful of things not working out, of being hurt so profoundly again. at the end of the day, all he wants and needs is to be loved.
