So the pandemic is still here, possibly hitting a 4th wave and people are still treating it as if it’s going away. I swear, if people just stayed in their freaking homes for 8 months this shit would be over. But something that has come to my attention is the absolute lack of concern teachers have with Corona. Like, do they think that just because kids are not likely to die to Covid, that they can’t? I spent an entire 2 semesters online and all the teachers ever told us was “how much they can’t wait to stop being remote” and how “these masks are awful!.” It’s just as bad as telling a kid (who is learning responsibility) that social ties are more important than actual safety. There are kids back in school, not because remote learning was hard (even thought it was, congrats on those who are making it through) but because teachers are encouraging children to come back to school and see everyone. I had many teachers upset with me because I chose to stay an online kid, and it made me feel guilty. The safety of myself as well as others should not make me feel guilty. The fact that some teachers don’t even bother to keep the kids social distanced as well as masked up is even more upsetting. Some students may disagree with me, that's fine, if you had a better schooling system that’s great! But right now, some of the stuff I’ve seen personally is terrifying.
Don’t risk your life because you want to be involved with those around you. Even if it is unlikely you will die, you are still human, you CAN die.
