so you’d think in a book like Outcast when one of the main characters is dealing with their parent being Evil (TM) there would be that moment. that classic moment when the Evil Parent offers to their child “Join me..” and then of course, because the child is Good, they reject the offer and prove that they’re different from their parents.
But Seshru. Seshru does not offer this. And she never would. Her daughter was always, always means to an end. A vessel for the demon. A tokoroth. Its absence in itself kind of indicates Seshru’s vile, heartless nature and also shows that Renn doesn’t need this Big Decision Moment to be proven good.
