When I was getting ready to make the transition from high school ball to college ball after being looked at and offered by by DIAA, DII, and DIII schools, I was told countless of times, I wasn’t big enough, I wasn’t fast enough, I didn’t have the build, etc! . One thing that was in the back of my mind every time I heard that was, “yeah, but coach they don’t know my heart and they can’t measure the size of my heart!” . I ended up with multitude of accolades and captainships, but that’s not the point. . Point being, if you don’t have the tangibles that people are looking for, then, outwork them, outsmart them, give the most effort, hustle the hardest, ask questions, and most importantly don’t ever let people tell you that you don’t have what it takes! . People look at the what’s on paper, the tangibles, but most of the time they don’t look at the heart nor can the measure your heart and effort! .
