EVENT: masquerade engagement ball STYLIST: themselves, as a fuck you to their parents.  DATE: 18 september 2021.

she anticipated it, really - someone showing up in the same dress as her, same mask. she had a backup. however, what did end up happening was not in the cards. how could she guess that her future step-son would spill his drink on her. whether it was on purpose or by accident, cecilia had a back up plan. she always had a backup plan. she had entrusted the owner - jade - with the outfit in case it was needed. and maybe, just maybe, no one would have noticed that the bride-to-be had a full on costume change in the middle of her own party. and while she changed, trying not to stress over her future family hating her completely, cecilia wiped away a few stray tears. it was her party and she could cry if she wanted to, but tonight was to be perfect. she needed to play the part of the perfect fiancé - if just for a few more hours. 

it wasn’t often that he was able to take a night off. not that you ever really got a night off from being a single parent. but joshua was hopeful for the night - to have some fun for once in his life. his entire world was work and his daughter. and she had urged him to go (probably so she could sneak someone in for a night of teenage antics) but he didn’t mind. she didn’t need to give him permission, but she did and he was determined to make the most of the night. 

with triplets on the way, zane wanted to give cleo a truly special evening that was just the two of them, as he doesn’t want her to ever feel as though they’ll replace her, no matter how much time they will take. he let her take the reigns on a lot of the evening that night. he even rented a limo for the occasion. 

despite modeling herself after a true grecian goddess, the bride-to-be was nervous. the party was for her. she had wanted an engagement party but the openness of it all - she did that for lavrants. there were times she joked about her intentions behind being with him. he was sweet with her, genuine almost and it helped that he could provide a lifestyle she wanted. she wanted to make him proud and not give him any reason to second guess marrying her. there was a part of her that loved him, and the rest of her would grow to love him over time. but what if? what if the night set off a chain of events that cecilia price was not prepared for?

amelia thought of the night as one giant show. the party, the open invite - it was all so grand and it didn’t  seem like it was real. but the fawely’s worked with a nord. and she was linked to a fawley so amelia was willing to play the part for the night. she was willing to pretend to be happy for the couple while on the arm of her fiancé. she could only hope that they wouldn’t have to stay the whole night.

natalia didn’t care about either of them. she could have cared less about the party and the celebration. but it was a masquerade and that meant their faces would be covered. which meant that she would have an excuse to go on a date with her boyfriend without people questioning it or giving it a second thought. all she wanted was to dance the night away and not  have to worry about people questioning how much time they spent together.
