11. What’s a fanfic idea you haven’t done yet?

I have a oneshot idea in my head where David and Patrick are at an arcade and somehow David is a Tapper aficionado. Patrick just watches, gobsmacked, as David beats the high score. And then he asks for another quarter and does it again. David no one even plays this game how are you doing it. And then Patrick talks a big game about how good he is at Pac Man and he’s miserably bad. I think this controller is broken, probably. And David tries it once and hums. Seems fine to me.

13. Do you have a favorite character to write for?

David is my favorite to write for! The most interesting moments for me in canon are the times when what he says and what he does are at odds (like in Grad Night when he says he doesn’t want Stevie to look but CLEARLY does). I love to try to write that feeling into fic!

15. Give us a snippet of something from your WiPs!

ALWAYS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO. I’m getting dangerously close to finishing this bartender au, so here’s a new snippet:

“You’re such a mother hen. I hang out with Patrick, sometimes. He’s got that job now, though. I go running.”

“What do you want to do?” David’s treading water in this conversation, but just barely. 

“What do you mean?” Alexis frowns. “I like running.”

“No, I mean, what do you want to do?” David doesn’t know how to make Alexis understand him. It’s a theme for them, or something. 

“I don’t mind what I’m doing.”
