____
Iâm screwed. Screwed and in trouble.
Staring at the back of your fatherâs head as he focused on the road in front of him. His golden eyes hadnât looked up for a few moments, and you were thankful. You were thankful for a lot of things at the moment. Thankful that you shared your motherâs gift at shielding yourself (maybe not so thankful that you also shared Renesmeeâs gift also). You were thankful that your parents were completely oblivious to your inner turmoil.
Caius.
His name had been living rent-free in your mind from the moment he showed back up with Aro after your 18th birthday. He didnât want to be there. Aro was the one who dragged him along in some attempt to recruit Renesmee or yourself into his âLegion of Doom.â
The moment your eyes met his, it was instant gravity. All of the noise in your mind stopped, and for the first time, everything was quiet. You were immediately questioning everything. Was this what it was like when you met âthe one?â You could only question yourself because there was no way you could ask your family. They would go berserk.
Berserk is probably putting things mildly. Screaming, yelling, ready for world war 3⌠those words sounded more accurate.
Caius had looked at you with the same stunned expression. He quickly got himself together before looking away (only to keep looking back to you briefly). Clearly, trying to determine if he was actually feeling something or not.
Going back to staring out the window, you let your mind drift back to that memoryâŚ
You weren't sure how it happened, but you were able to be alone with Caius briefly. He kept his distance, not daring to look at you again.
âWhy do you keep staring at me like that?â
He finally snapped. You hadnât moved from your place by the door.
âI think you know. Youâre looking at me the same way, if you want to be technical.â
Caius glanced toward the door. He could hear Aro, once again, trying to con your parents into joining him. When satisfied that they were occupied, Caius turned back to you with a cold expression.
âI donât know anything about anything you are speaking of.â
You rolled your eyes, getting up. Glancing again at your parents, you held your hand out to Caius.
âDonât you even consider putting some ridiculous spell on me.â
âPlease, Iâm not a witch.â
You replied. The moment your hand touched his face, it was as if electricity hit him. You placed the image of the two of you kissing into his mind. Caius sat motionless for a moment before slowly placing his hand over yours.
âFuck.â
He muttered. Caius had thought all of the soul mate nonsense was complete and utter bullshit. Now here he stood, staring at you as if you were the only thing that made sense.
You slowly moved your hand away from his.
âI thought that it was all bull. I didnât think soul mates existedâŚmy parentsâŚthey wonât acceptâŚâ
Caius held a hand up, silencing you. He was clearly still processing everything himselfâŚ
"We'll figure it outâŚâ
âY/n?â
Your thoughts were interrupted by your fatherâs soft voice.
âYes?â
Edwardâs eyes rolled up to your face. He knew something was off, but he couldnât put two and two together. Something had been different since Aro and Caius turned up the day after yours and Renesmeeâs 18th birthday. It didn't matter how many times Edward or Bella asked if everything was okay; you only replied with a fine.
Renesmee wrapped her hand around yours with a careful, wary expression.
âWant to talk about whatever it is? Iâm sad you are hiding something from me. We never have had secrets.â
Your eyes flickered to your twin.
âIâm fine.â
âYouâre not fine. I can see it on your face. Youâre not good at hiding things. Our whole family sees it.â
Your father's voice interrupted the conversation.
âWhat are you thinking about? I have known your face since it was the size of a tennis ball.â
You blinked a few times, trying to think of something fast.
âUhâŚactually nothingâŚwell, plotting Renesmee and Jacobâs wedding in my mind.â
Edward raised an eyebrow suspiciously while Renesmee gave you a look and muttered âliar.â You elbowed your sister, signaling for her to shut up.
Why canât they just leave me alone?
You thought. How were you supposed to tell them that you were leaving? No matter how you left, it was going to be ugly.
You had written more than twenty letters explaining your absence. One never sounded better than the other. You had concluded that no matter how you worded everything to your family, it would never be good news. They would never accept Caius as your lover.
This will probably put them all in a grave.
You thought, lying your head back against the headrest.
Tomorrow is the day. They just donât know it yet. A year of hiding and Iâm done.
The realization that this was your last night with your actual family hit hard. How long would it be before you saw them again? Would they want to see you again? You could only hope. Maybe, in time, all of you could have a logical and not so emotion-driven conversation and explain that you were happy. You couldnât just turn off a soul mate gene no matter what your parents would want.
Arriving home, you went to your room to wait until everyone was busy with their own âthingsâ before disappearing. You would be less likely to be caught when everyone was busy with other things.
Your phone's buzz caught your attention as you finalized what you were taking with you. Glancing down, you saw the name âBridgetâ on your phone. No one but you knew that Bridget was, in fact, Caius.
âHow much longer?â
âMaybe an hour? I have to give everyone time to get busy before I jump out the window.â
âIâm not scared of your father.â
âIâm aware, but I would prefer to make this as painless as possible.â
The following hour passed slowly. You paced your room until the hour mark came. Opening your window, you looked over your shoulder and listened for a moment before jumping out. The last thing you wanted was for either your mother, father, or sister to walk in when you were in the process of ârunning away.â That would be a hard one to explain.
âOh, I was just checking what it would be like to jump out the window in case of a fire.â
That seemed like the best excuse that you could come up with. The moment your feet hit the ground, you stood in silence waiting for any signs of your family. Hearing none, you quickly snuck into the woods. As much as you wanted to tell everyone goodbye, you would never be able to.
You hadnât been in the woods very long when a set of hands reached out and shoved you against a tree.
âAsshole.â
You grumbled when Caius brought your hands up over your head. He chuckled, leaning down to kiss you.
âI like that better than Bridget. Youâve kept me waiting long enough. I donât know what part of me makes you think I enjoy standing in the woods this long.â
Trying to push your body closer, you ran your tongue over his bottom lip.
âYouâve been called worse than Bridget.â
Caius shrugged.
âYour father is about to call me significantly worse names. Too bad I wonât be around to witness it.â
âIf we stick around to witness it, there will be an actual war. Itâs best to let them process this information without us actually being here.â
Caius lowered your hands, rolling his eyes.
âAgain, Iâm not scared of your father or anyone in your family. They arenât keeping us apart. Letâs get out here.â
Wrapping his hand around yours, Caius led you out of the woods, where Felix was waiting in a black sedan. Caius stopped you before you reached for the door handle.
âThis is your one chance to change your mind.â
You shook your head.
âYouâre what I want. Iâm not changing my mind.â
Caius reached down for the door handle and motioned forward.
âAfter you, princess.â
Felixâs eyes rolled up to yours the moment. He didnât understand the relationship between the two of you, but he wasnât about to question Caius on his choices. The last person who did ended up dead. Felix was not about to add his name to that list.
Caius closed the door behind him and turned his attention back to Felix.
âGo.â
Caius closed the privacy screen between the two of you and Felix. He waited until the two of you were completely closed off before reaching for you. You quickly climbed on his lap, placing a leg on either side of his body.
âItâs been too long.â
You murmured as Caius shoved his mouth back to yours. These desperate, hungry kisses were enough to keep you wanting more. Maybe, if you were lucky, Felix would drive slowly.
âNo more hiding from mommy and daddy.â
Caius said with a sneer. He had been sick of hiding a long time ago. Sneaking around to see each other was on his ever-growing list of âstupid shit I donât want to do again.â As much as he didnât want to admit it, he would have done it if you asked him to. You were making Caius do stuff that went against what he was. You were his âHelen of Troy.â All Caius wanted was you, in Italy, with him.
The things I would do for this woman.
âCaius, pleaseâŚâ
You started but stopped the moment his hand slid up your thigh. He squeezed, making you gasp.
âWe arenât hiding anymoreâŚlike we would be able to anyway. Your family will know everything soon.â
âI donât care anymore. I told you that Iâm tired of hiding and I mean it.â
You replied. At this moment, seated on your loverâs lap, you didnât care. Your family was the furthest thing from your mind.
âWe have time before we get to the airport. Will FelixâŚ.
You added, reaching for the buckle of Caiusâ belt.
âHe knows to keep his mouth shut. Are you wet enough?â
Caius interrupted. You quickly pulled your skirt up enough to fall over your joined bodies. If Felix did look back, it would look as if you were only sitting on Caiusâ lap.
âFind out for yourself.â
You closed your eyes as Caiusâ middle and index fingers stroked through your folds. He teased your entrance before sliding up to your clit, rubbing a few circles.
âYouâre this wet from a little kissing? Wait until I shove your face into a pillow.â
âIt wouldnât be the first time.â
You replied, spreading your legs enough for Caius to get his pants undone. As much as you wanted more foreplay, there would only be enough time for a quickie.
Caius patted your thigh.
âGo on, darling.â
Sinking on Caiusâ length, your head rolled back as he sank in, inch by inch.
âNo, open your eyes. I want those pretty eyes on me.â
Caius murmured, trying to keep it down. You sat back up as he set up a steady rhythm. It took all that you had not to moan too loudly or close your eyes.
âThatâs it. Just like that, darling.â
Caius groaned, shoving his face into your neck. You gasped as his mouth closed around your neck. Over the past year, you had become a pro at covering his love bites. Now you wouldnât have to.
The moment he gently bit down, you came. Caius quickly moved to kiss you through your orgasm.
âGood girl.â
He murmured, focusing on getting himself off. You put a hand to his check putting multiple erotic memories into his mind. Thatâs all it took. One push later, and he spilled into you.
âI hope you enjoyed your pornography.â
Caius pulled you back into another kiss.
âAlways.â
You remained on Caiusâ lap, stroking your hand through his hair.
âDo you regret it? Waiting a year for this
Caius frowned.
âI believe waiting a year was a bit of overkill. You know that Iâm not patient, but for youâŚI would do what I had to in order to have you with me. Whatever the future holds, Iâll deal with it.â
Caius watched for that sweet little smile that he adored so much. When you leaned in, kissing him again, he leaned back into the seat.
âI love you.â
You whispered against his mouth.
âI love you.â
You were close to asking what his plan on dealing with your parents was but the car stopped first. Caius quickly reached between your joined bodies to buckle his pants.
âMaster, we are here.â
Felix said, lightly knocking on the window. You wiggled off of Caiusâ lap, fixing your clothes back into place.
Stepping out of the car, you followed Caius to the waiting private jet. Before stepping in, you glanced back at the world that used to be your home. You didnât know when or if you would be back. Taking in the scenery, you said goodbye to the old Y/n Cullen and stepped into your new life as Caiusâ wife.
ââ Edward sat at his piano, playing quietly. His mind had been on your newfound silence. It had been troubling him for some time. Tonight, it seemed to be worse than normal. He had seen in your eyes that something was wrong. Edward didnât understand why you couldnât communicate about whatever it was.
I have a worldâs best dad trophy, and I would like to say I earned it.
Edward thought before turning to Bella, who was reading.
âDoes Y/n seem off to you?â
Bella looked up with a frown. The answer was easy, yes. She had noticed it a while ago but hadnât pressed you too much on the issue. Something was different when you hugged her that morning. You held onto her a little longer than normal.
âYes. I was going to talk to you about it. I donât know what it is but thereâs something.â
Edward frowned.
âI have tried to talk to her several times and sheâs been dismissive. Do you think it has to do with Renesmee getting married soon? Theyâve never been separated before. This is a big step for both of them.â
Bella looked thoughtful. This had to be a scary time for you too. While she knew that you were happy for your sister, you were also losing everything that you had grown up with.
âRenesmee?â
Renesmee poked her head into the room, hearing Bella call her name.
âYeah?â
Bella turned to her daughter with a worried expression.
âCan you please go talk to your sister? Something is definitely wrong. I think sheâs having a hard time with you getting married soon.â
Renesmee shrugged.
âI have tried, but Iâll try again.â
Renesmee went upstairs and knocked on your door.
âY/n, itâs me.â
Renesmee wasnât shocked when you didnât answer. She could hear your stereo playing softly. Renesmee had to find some way to get through to whatever was troubling you.
When you didnât answer, Renesmee gently pushed the door open. She frowned, not seeing you.
âY/n?â
Renesmee turned to your bedside table, seeing an envelope that had âmom and dadâ printed on it. Picking the letter up, Renesmee opened and slowly began to read.
âMom & Dad,
I donât know how to tell either of you this gently. You were both right. I have been keeping a secret. Iâm sorry that I never told you but I know neither of you will accept this. I know that I have a soulmate. Iâm in love with Caius. We have been seeing each other for a year. Iâm no longer hiding and am going to be with him in Italy. I know that neither of you will understand but he makes me happy. Daddy, I love him. Iâm sorry but I have to go.
-Y/n.â
Renesmee felt her mouth drop. She had to read the letter again to make sure that her mind wasnât playing a joke on her. You were with Caius. That Caius?! Renesmee felt her stomach drop as she looked around your room, feeling a soul-sucking emptiness fill her body. Her eyes turned to your stereo as a haunting melody began to playâŚ
Three, two, one, I miss you I'm sorry, I got issues
What if I run away to Mars? Would you find me in the stars? Would you miss me in the end If I run out of oxygen? When I run away to Mars
